With millions of dollars and a dedicated team of professionals, yes. But not from amateurs, there's simply not enough money or computing power.

 

Also you said about Batman? The Dark Knight has barely any CG in it, and the main thing it's used for is getting cameras and equipment out of shots (Nolan likes to have many cameras capturing a scenefrom different angles a the same time). Other than Two-Face (and possibly the skyhook), the only major shot of the film that was CG was the helicopter plummeting out of the sky, and even then, it was only when it was falling, when it hits the street it's a real chopper chassis they lit on fire and chucked down the street.

 

That's how you use CG, at least for now. Films like Avatar are pushing CG forward and sowing seeds for CG to one day look fully convincing, but it's still a work in progress, and certianly beyond the capabilities of a few amateur SW fans.
