Well i would say that the worse aspect of the 2004 mix for ANH is the reversed music in the rear channels and the reversed sound effects in the front channels. The 2004 mix is a mess. For example check out the detention cell corridor shoot-out scene. you see lasers flying in from the right side of the screen yet the laser blast sound comes from the left. It's screwy in many places. i don't know what the hell Ben Burt was on when he did this mix but the SE laserdisc mix doesn't suffer with any of this. Also the quality of the dialogue changes so many times throughout a scene that it becomes distracting (aldreaan destruction scene for one). again something that isn't apparent in the laserdisc mix. But on the other side of things the laserdisc 5.1 lacks a lot of the stereo seperation that the 2004 mix has and sounds a little more like an upmixed mono rear surround than separate rear channels in places.

Oh yeh and Obi-Wan's Krayt Dragon call in the 2004 mix... eeeww. :)
