My first impression of Ric Olie when I was 12 was that he was the most stunning-looking male I'd ever seen, and I still remember how I felt when I watch SW, and he always makes the "top 3 sexiest/prettiest/handsomest devils from Naboo" lists, either.

Fixed.  :)

It's just too bad he always comes in behind Panaka.

Who are Ric Olie and Panaka? LOL. (real old-school OT'er here). ;-)

EDIT: nevermind, I just Googled them (Panaka is also apparently some sort of beverage?)

Nice!  But, *ahem*

Olie - 4 votes

Panaka - 1 vote

When it comes to being a Handsome Devil from Naboo (TM), Panaka will never be anything more than my sous-chef.

You had to google me?  How have you gotten through life without me to point out what you were looking at?  I highly recommend you visit my website (link in my sig).

And they've both aged badly, for whatever reasons.

Really?  I don't think Mark Hamill looks half bad.  Carrie Fisher isn't too bad either.  She'd probably still be stunning if she dropped a little bit of weight.  I wouldn't say they've aged too bad.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Let's add some recent photographs of the pair to this discussion :)

Fisher in 2009 and... Fisher in 2009 pt2 and pt3

Hamill in 2008  and again in 2008 with Samuel L Jackson another one with Sam again, in 2008 and again in 2008 Hamill in 2009 and pt2

Granted, at least two out of three of those pics of Fisher were very unflattering angles and poses.  Might be willing to concede on Hamill, though...

When nine hundred years old you reach, look as good you will not. Hmm?

I was reading an article on ESPN.com (literally 30 seconds ago) and was startled to read this:

I was hoping you could think of some women who younger men may be surprised to find out were considered ridiculously hot and desirable back in the day. The Shelley Long All-Stars if you will.

So let's name it the Kathleen Turner All-Stars. Some other good examples with help from the Mailbag Committee: Kirstie Alley; Susan Sarandon; Phyllis George; Belinda Carlisle; Carrie Fisher; Charlene Tilton; Mary Tyler Moore; Tyra Banks; Marianne Faithfull; Melanie Griffith; Delta Burke; Deborah Norville; Teri Garr; Cher; Brenda Vaccaro; Angie Dickinson; Brigitte Nielsen; Valerie Bertinelli; Lindsay Lohan (the youngest example ever); Ann Wilson; Elizabeth Taylor; Ann-Margret; Debbie Harry; Whitney Houston; and, of course, Jim Lampley.

LOL.

lol... Good roll call, come to think of it. Tyra Banks is still attractive though and Cher continues to look reasonably good but of course that's down to the same kind of artificial means Sidious used to save Vader's life after Mustafar :D

I'm stunned Tyra Banks made that list- most of the other women on that list are old enough to be her mother or grandmother (?) When did she become UN-hot?

And even though Liz Taylor is in her 70's now- I find it hard to believe that anyone would be unaware that in her prime she was considered to be one of the most beautiful women who's ever lived.

I honestly did not know Brenda Vaccaro was once a hottie! LOL!

I did see your name/avatar on the last page- I just had no idea it was Star Wars-related. For some reason I have no memory of that character from TPM- and that's the only prequel film that I saw more than once. :-/

Make that two.  I looked up the name and found a link to a Star Wars wiki page about the character.  I saw Phantom when it came out and also have absolutely no memory of that character.  That wiki page had a few screen grabs and made it sound as though he even had a few lines.

Weird - 10 years later and Phantom is nearly gone from my head.

*edit*

I had 12 years and corrected it to 10.  Apparently the characters & story aren't the only things that have faded from memory.

You guys are killing me!  A few lines?  I had the most important dialogue in any of the six movies.  Here's proof:

lmao... *sigh* lost opportunity for the saga. Click here for further evidence that the Academy robbed him at the awards, sheer injustice!
