How's your Halo-a-thon going? I wouldn't say it's the greatest thing ever, but I am a big fan. I worked at Barnes and Noble when the books started coming out. I assumed that they were terrible and never game them much thought. Then I was lurking in a Halo forum when Halo 3 was coming out and several people expressed this sentiment:

"I thought the books looked terrible. Someone told me they were good. I read them. I really liked them!"

So, I gave them a shot and with a couple exceptions (The Flood, Contact Harvest) I have to say they are really good. They have definitely increased my appreciation of the Halo Universe. Heck, my wife even read (nay, devoured!) all of the books as well.

I may need someone to play ODST Co-op with, so we may have to set something up sometime. What timezone are you in? I'm in Mountain (GMT-7/6DST)
