I've seen The Relentless and it's quite good, but I haven't seen the other two you posted Angel.

Darth Editous will prove invaluable to the project, I'm sure. Good to have you aboard, DE! :)

dark ressurection is great, it is the first ever spaghetti star wars film! revelations was very well done too, but felt like a star was convention on blue screen. there is a pilot episode of a fan series that was never followed that was very well done, and acted (to a degree), but i cant remember the name.

i think by the time ady gets through ROTJ, it would probably become a borderline fan-film.;)

Sice EP1 is hard to find a fan film without a "cool" lightsaber fight and without the Duel of the Fates.

Nobody uses a good blaster anymore and nobody seems to care who is The best pilot in the galaxy (Just imagine trying to sell the "Shadows of the Empire videogame" or the "X-Wing series" now)

Also, since the EP1 was so childishly funny, there is no more humor/cheer on Star Wars.

Thanks for the in-depth update on where you're at and what you still need Ady.  Although I don't think I'll be able to swing £350, I'll try to send a little something your way in the near future :)  I'd love to donate right now, but I'm just in the middle of house renovations, plus I'm off on paternity leave, so money's a little tighter than usual.

Hopefully I'll be able to send a donation by late November at the latest.

Maybe Tydirum - The true story http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVtJllP91Ig and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDlRQuys8S8 was being made by some german fellas a few years back, but seems to have fallen by the wayside now as nothing has happened in a long time now. I also have (correction "had") an early trialer that runs quite a bit longer than those two that are still avalible. Looks stunning.

Maybe the authors could offer some extra material for the endor battle in Jedi:Revisited if their project is now de-funked?

I'll add this to the wishlist whist i remember.

Lets see if i remember about props:

A space slug mouth interior with pointy like stalagmites teeth to replace the old one.

This particular one split opinion over a few pages a while back where the look of the teeth were concerned.  Some liked the idea, while others (including myself) definately didn't.

Adywan didn't confirm or deny anything at the time.

I quite liked the possibility of having them 'retract out' slowly when we first see them in the distance through the Falcon's windows, just before Leia says her "The cave is collapsing" line.  However, I always just thought that this was a pretty unusual situation for the 'inexperienced' (?) Princess to have understood perfectly at that exact moment....but would when the Falcon got a bit nearer to them, so I was always fine with them not 'retracting out' of the 'gumline' too, or looking anything other than teeth in the whole scene.

(Ignore the quality of these shots as I don't think they are from the cleaned-up SE, and will be enhanced for the 'Revisited' version anyway)

Still wondering just how far down into the 'asteroid hole' the Slug is meant to be, as it seems that at the very start of the 'leaping out' shot that the front end of it is not quite out of the hole yet.  Should we be seeing a partial inside of the asteroid hole BEYOND the teeth, in any of the shots leading up to that 'leaping out' shot?  I'd certainly like to see a hint of the 'small asteroids' that are flying around in the distance everywhere....

This 'mouth interior' model is one of my most looked forward to!  :)

Wow!  That's amazing.  Has anyone ever gone this far for a fan edit before?

I think this will look like nothing once Adywan's done ROTJ: R. He said before ESB new model work is mostly practice, so he can go all out on ROTJ.

You know, the asteroid slug always bothered me for some reason that I couldn't quite put my finger on, and looking at the shots above it suddenly hit me:

That's no asteroid slug!  That's Audrey 2!!!

Yeh, the cameo may be a bit too ambitious but i will only be adding the cameos in places where it won't jump out at anyone watching that is a new face or character.

Seems so HotRod, but do we film ourselves or just send pix I wonder..

Well we randomly get our faces on something or someone? or will there be a choice?

I am looking forward to Adys choices here :D Who will go where and on what...woohoo!

While that 'cameo' idea sounds fun, it's a little scary that we might end up seeing 'replacement' faces that may be more at home in the Cantina Bar for all we know!

Although the project itself should be incentive enough for anyone, that early 'behind the scenes footage' suggestion sounds a winner to me, although I like the idea of an 'unreleased' clip being a possible option sometime too.

Yeh, the cameo may be a bit too ambitious but i will only be adding the cameos in places where it won't jump out at anyone watching that is a new face or character.  If i can't do it convincingly enough then at least there will be the BTS clip which will feature a new finished clip at the end.

Ahh, a new finished clip at the end of the 'Behind the scenes' footage.  Now that I like.  Anyone wishing to be in the movies should just buy this -  www.yoostar.com

IF the cameo is to be done, maybe we could add suggestions as to where it could go:

If we were to be filmed, then naturally it would have to be a background character, such as one of the imperial pit officers, or one of the rebels somewhere in the control room, back somewhere in the hanger bay or even in the trench.  Not that it would be done, but if humor is a factor, the cameo could possibly be the person behind Admiral Ozzel who turns to look at the body, looks up to see Vader and quickly turns back to working at his post (I always found that a little humorous for some reason).

If a still image was to be used, then a face on an ID or even a brief face shot on one of the background snowspeeder pilots before or during getting shot down could be used.

Or better still, the cameo could be as a stormtrooper!  Of course, with the mask on it would be hard to see your face, but maybe a voice cameo could be worked with as well.

love that movie! play also! anyways i've seen all those fan films. they're all pretty good, if u don't mind amature camera crews and corny effects. Reign of the fallen was my favorite, had awsome scenes of the sith vs. the jedi.

I feel sorry for any poor Star Wars originally filmed extras that get "pasted over" by any fan editor... (no offense)

Here is a suggestion for an extra on the DL DVD or whatnot:

would it be possible to include a remastered version of the Boba Fett cartoon from the Holiday Special (as in JUST the cartoon)?

That might actually be a cool extra feature.  Not a bad idea.

I still love it when Conan O' Brien played the clip of the Special to Harrison Ford. LOL

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Hey guys! Adywan especially... been reading the forum for a while and have been mucho interested in what everyone's gotta say. All I want to say is... keep up the bloody excellent work everyone involved in this. I'm not sure how much you realise how immensly enjoyable it is to see real fans give these films the treatment they deserved (not some shoddy half-assed job like some fan edits (that includes Lucas and his some of his 'special' edition choices!)).

Just thought I'd also post up some artwork I did for a DVD cover. I've been working on one for each of the 3 (I ain't tempting fate Ady, but I'm sure you're already planning exactly what you are gonna do for Jedi... such as restore max rebo's band to their original and proper form I hope?) original movies in their 'Revisited' form. Still all work in progress (the back ain't finished quite yet), using unusual and generally advance/international poster work. I'm also guessing at special features! Ha!

What do people think..? Don't mind if you don't like, but I'm doing them for myself so thought I'd share.

Shameless self promotion...

Nice work. Never seen that poster before, like the styling.

Funny how that happens. It's one of my all-time favorite ESB posters! First saw it in an old Insider catalogue around...15 years ago? But there has been SO much merchandise over the years that it's easy to miss something that may be old hat to someone else.

Nicely done, Vincent! Looking forward to any more you may make, too.

yes yes yes! i was working on one myself, hoping that a few filters and recolouring could improve clarity. only problem i had was the only source i could get was no better than a youtube copy.

where did you get this screenshot from?

it would be neat to re-edit it slightly so the planet is ord mandell (so hans comment in ESB could reference it), and to add a crawl.

one option could be a fan remake, where we can retrace the cartoon. with enough hands it would be surpirisngly easy and talentless. colouring and repainting backgrounds i can handle.
