I've jumped on to help seed, but only the ISO. I didn't download the sample myself, nor any of the extra files, so I'm not downloading them now.

Can someone possibly put these onto Blu disks for me? I would cover any costs incurred (and postage).

Would greatly appreciate it! PM me...

Episde I - The Phantom Menace AVCHD Torrent uploaded to 'you know where'.  Just search for 'Adywan'.   Thanks once again to Adywan for all his great work.  I'd appreciate it if anyone who has the files could help me seed.  I'll seed only until the weekend.

If anyone wants the 14 gig high bit rate version of ESB on torrents, then I'll need some help seeding that.  If enough people offer to help I'll torrent it otherwise I can't as my upload speed isn't great.

I'm seeding (albeit somewhat slowly) for the foreseeable future... say through the end of November or so.

Could Adywan or someone who has the jpeg please repost the comparison screenshots of ESB?  I'd like to show it to a friend and ESB shots appear to have vanished.  Thanks

Anyone interested in B&P? I'm downloading now but *very* slowly! If you already have a copy I'd love to send you a DVD9 + postage.  And yes, I do own several versions of this trilogy...

thx

I've already PM'd you but just to see if others are interested, I'm volunteering to seed like a mofo. I wants it. :)

What I meant was people for initial seeding.  There's no way I'm seeding a 14 gig file on a 768k up connection on my own.  It's simply too inconvenient when you have daytime upload limits and throttling.  Yes it is a bit selfish I know.  If other people are willing to help with the INITIAL seeding then I'll torrent it otherwise it isn't going to happen I'm afraid.  It took me 3 days to seed the Episode I AVCHD (about 8 gig) and that was with other people helping to seed.  You'll be better off asking for blanks+postage or getting a usenet account.  Some usenet providers provide 'download block' accounts.  To be honest I don't know how popular a torrent of the 14 gig mkv would be anyway, there's hardly been anyone else asking for it besides you.

So... I can help seed. I usually have mine running all night. But if you'll do blanks+postage I'd def be interested in that too. thx

He means people who have the file already to hop on as a seeder as soon as he creates it. Not people to download it then carry on seeding. Thats what I asked.

Ok so I downloaded an .iso (+.mds) but after I burn with imgburn and try to verify I'm getting a ton of these messages:

W 19:14:13 Failed to Read Sector 854309 - Reason: L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 19:14:13 Sector 854309 maps to File: \BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts

???

bad file? is there some trick to burning this thing?

edit: i'm not a big fan of memorex - is it any good? I got some dvd+r dl and that's what i'm using. thx

Memorex Dl are pretty crap really. I used them a while ago and out of a box of 25 not a single 1 burned without errors.

When burning make sure you burn the discs on the lowest possible speed. higher speeds can cause errors on a lot of DL media.

i use Verbatim made in singapore and even burning on the highest speed i get perfect burns every time. Verbatim made in india are lower quality though and you do get the odd bad burn even on low speeds

Hey thanks for the info on Memorex... that's kinda what I though. Although I always lumped verbatim in that group too.  Good to know they are better quality now. I may give it one more shot on the lowest burn setting and yes I believe imgburn defaulted to udf 2.5 from the logs I saw.

I have a Sony BDP-s360 but will have a buddy try this disc on his PS3 - maybe it's my player who knows. I saw earlier in the thread that some with this player had to use the converted 23.79 (?) fps version instead of the 24 fps...

thx again.

... Yeah, Memorex made me bad jokes too a while ago... The only "memory" remaining of my first infographic works is in my head !

I now use Sony discs and they seem very good to me, never lost something. About the burning speed, for my mixed pieces of music I burn at... 1x150Ko/s!  Never get rid of good old material :)

23.976 fps is what you are referring to.  FYI it is only Verbatim made in Singapore that are the best quality; those made in India are sub-standard.  That might be the source of your misconception about Verbatim dics.

Even Memorex SL discs aren't very good.  I use TDK/Ritek instead.  Buying cheap discs is more expensive in the long run, as you end up going through many discs obtain to one good copy.

PM sent about the AVCHD.

Just to wrap up my part of this thread - usenet worked great for pulling down ESB 1080p (thanks to the user earlier for the suggestion about giganews!). Also, found that a slow burn on the memorex did the trick... I will burn again using verbatim just for a backup. One interesting point is that imgburn id'd the memorex discs as Ritek... is it possible Ritek mfr's the discs and memorex just slaps a label on them?

thx to everyone for the help! these HD versions are amazing! I put ESB HD in my Sony blu-ray and the 2004 DVD into my Oppo dvd to compare... incredible! Adywan is a legend! :)

Edit: found some info on memorex/ritek. apparently neither get good reviews so I'll def. be making a copy on the verbatim!

The vocals in the LD 5.1 mix are not isolated completely to the center channel, they still have very substantial volume in the left and right channels, not just a mere echo. Is that how they did surround mixing back then, cause any movie I watch in surround sound today, there is either no vocals in the left and right, or at 'certain' moments in a movie, there are if they are extremely loud, or there is a huge echo.

I'm just curious about that. IDK honestly what sounds better, don't have the best surround sound system to test.

On another note, about ROTJ. This seems like the movie that has had the worst alterations done to it in the SE. The replacement Max Reebo scene looks like Pixar animation; if Lucas added this to remove the 'fakeness of puppets'.. he only made it look less believable with poorly animated creature movements (they are exaggerated for cartoon style, not realistic animation movements for film), and poorly rendered effects like the saliva in the creatures mouth... looks like the water from the animated movie Antz.

And the lips on the singer. Another example of this unrealistic animation usually associated with cartoony pixar.. So over done, did the lips need to stretch 10 miles into the camera so far that its a friggin macro shot. I half expected it to zoom in to the cellular level or for the other obnoxious creature.. for the camera to pan down his throat all the way into his stomach. Ugh, this is just sad.

The music sounds awful. If I had to choose from a jazz/funk music made in 1983 by one of the best film composers ever, and some ugly 90s style R&B... I'm going with the the first.

We have to replace this scene. I don't care if the rest of the movie is 1080, and this scene is only 320 pixels in height. I'd rather it abruptly switch to lower resolution or standard definition.. than watch that new abomination in HD. The scene has to go.

I can tolerate the stupid beak in the pit of carkoon, even though I think that was a pointless addition..

The other big issue is pretty simple to fix. The ending. Just remove the new 'scenes'.. The rest of the scenes are the same as the original, they just are re-ordered slightly.

Just readd the original mix from the LD, and remove Hayden's ghost. I feel sorry for the original Anakin Skywalker.. his role just getting tossed aside at the end to make room for this horrible actor.

EDIT: By the way, I am not the most amazing with animation yet when it comes to CGI, but I could probably handle space ship scenes no problem.

I have good experience with using 3D Studio Max.

Yes i agree also Adywan is a legend !. Think of how legendary he will become when he releases Jedi without Hayden at the end !!!

Ady i know youre a busy guy but im still counting down the days until some  day in 2010 when Jedi is released .
