Is DC vs Mortal Kombat worth $15? Haven't played any MK since MKIII and Trilogy.

Honestly, I still haven't gotten around to playing it myself. Reviews for it seem to be in the "good but not great" range, which can be pretty awful incomparison if you don't play many games and tend to stick to the really great ones. With MK vs DC, from what I have read if you are a big Mortal Kombat fan, you'll be disappointed, MK vs DC is really toned down (only rated T) and just doesn't live up to the classic MK feeling, but if you are a DC fan the novelty of playing as DC characters in a decent fighting game makes it worth while. At least that seems to be the view I took away from several different reviews I skimmed through before buying it.

Considering people are still paying in the $50 dollar range for it in most stores, and $39 at gamestop, I figured it'd be a welcome addition to my collection at that price. Have some other games I want to finish before diving into it though. I have a bad habit of starting games, getting into them, then getting side tracked and setting them aside. I'd like to finish Mirror's Edge, Time Shift, Stranglehold, and Halo 3 before I get too involved in something else.

Found Yellow! However, no game boy color in sight - curses! Oh well, I'll use the good ol' SP. My file sucks right now, but I found a great trick to get Pikachu to like me: keep attempting to feed it potions when full health, and it likes that. Finally - 10 years later - I have Bulbasaur! Never got Pikachu to like me enough, I guess.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Whoa, looks like Left 4 Dead 2 is going to need to undergo some censorship in order to be released in OZ. Slightly too violent for the Munckinlander's government (okay, just playing around with the Munckin thing, I love Aussies). They don't allow the sale of games if they cannot be given a rating, and their highest rating is MA15+, anything over that rating cannot be released until edited down to fit the appropriate rating. Hope this doesn't effect the US and other releases of the game. They did this when Fallout 3 was being released and it resulted in "Morphine" being changed to "Med-X" in all regions, not just the Australian version. I am pretty sure it will only effect the Australian release of the game though.

Man, I wasn't even really looking forward to this game that much a few months ago, but the closer to release it gets and the more I read and see about it, the more I feel like picking this up on release. Anybody else looking forward to it? Goodness, it is hard to get video game discussion going in this place...

These aren't new games but I have been playing them and I love them.

Tomb Raider:Legend This game is one of my favorites. The only problem I had with it was....It was way too short. I did like it better than other Tomb Raider games because the controls were 100% better. Tomb Raider has been known for it's un-customizable shitty controls that give even the best gamers a hard time.  But Legend's default controls were great. But now I can imput my own controls. This game overall is very user friendly. Unlike other Tomb Raider games, I wasn't screaming at my computer after 10 minutes of gameplay.

All in all, the only problems most people have with this game is Lara's breast size. But really I always felt they were way too exaggerated.

Story 5/5. Yes, it has mushy "My momma's gone moments." But nothing is better than searching for Excalibur.

Gameplay 5/5. This game just oozes with that wonderful element of challenge. You have to use your head. Sometimes you will be in situations were you will say "Well DUH." Then there are the unconventional puzzles that will make you think. But really, this game helps you along the way.

Character 5/5 Come on it is Lara Croft. The fun thing about the game is you have company. Lara's partners at the manor help Lara in the middle of these dark tombs. They even add a level of comedy without tossing pies.

Graphics 5/5. In the PC version you are given the option of using next-gen graphics. If you have an NVIDIA you are gonna have a good day. I didn't the first time I played it so I had to go with PS2 graphics. But it really has good graphics.

Overall 5/5. Yes I recommend this game 100%. I would recommend this to teenagers and adults. Kids might have a hard time getting past some of the graphic monsters in it. I used to have a hard time playing Shadows Of The Empire because the wampas scared me.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary This game was a great remake. When you think of a remake you think that you are going to play the exact same game. In this case NOOOOOO.

Toby Gard (The Creator of Tomb Raider) returned to the Tomb Raider franchise with Legend after years of just giving up on the character. His flavor is in every corner of this game.

Story 5/5. Nothing much has changed as far as the story goes. But it still has new things to offer.

Gameplay 3/5 Yes I said it. There is a move in this game that if you haven't mastered you cannot play it. It is the adrenaline dodge. This move is used on every boss you encounter. To do this move you have to piss off your opponent by filling up their PO METER. They will charge at you and you have to press several buttons and freeze time giving them a shot in the head. You have to do this several times. I gave up for about a week and finally got back to playing it. I suggest when you play this game to practice this move 100 times.

Characters. 4/5 Lara is the same awesome Lara we love. But the other characters are as shitty and badly acted as ever.

Graphics. 4/5 The graphics in this game are great but they aren't always used to your advantage.

Overall 4/5 I wouldn't recommend this to the novice gamer. This game is for people who enjoy having a hard time. The T-Rex is huge and you cant avoid fighting him. The Centaurs pissed me off. But really everything in this game is huge. You get vertigo in the main room of St. Francis Folly. You really feel the scale of this game. It makes you wonder how much work went into this game.

Parents don't buy this game for your kids. They will love it but they will break your monitors and televisions out of shear aggravation.

If you want to challenge yourself with a good game BUY IT.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I know im in the minority but ive pretty much enjoyed all of the tomb raider games (with the exception of Angel of Darkness), every time a new game comes out it seems like the critics tear it apart but I still end up having a good time with it.  I played underworld for wii and it was pretty fun and plan to get it for PS3 the first time I see it used for really cheap.

I have actually never played more than five minutes or so of a Tomb Raider game. They have just never struck me as all that interesting.

I am not a big Halo fan or anything, I just got around to playing and beating 1-3 this year. I am by no means a fanboy, and I don't think they are the absolute greatest games ever made, but I do enjoy them for what they are.

That said, the newest game in the series came out today, ODST. And I have to say it is really freakin' good! It is quite a bit different from the other games, in a good way. This is the most I have ever enjoyed playing a Halo game. And as a Firefly fan, it is indescribably cool having Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, and Alan Tudyk all provide voice acting for the game (and in the case of Nathan Fillion, not only did he lend his voice talent, but also his likeness. Pretty cool actually seeing him in the game. Kind if wish they had done the same for the other Firefly guys. Tricia Helfer from BSG also has her likeness used for her character in the game).

Left 4 Dead's new Crash Course DLC

I'd been looking kind of forward to this DLC. Having played plenty of the original four campaigns, the idea of a fresh brand new scenario sounded pretty nice. Valve clearly stated that this campaign consists of only two maps, and was designed with vs. mode in mind. Even with those warnings lowering my expectations, I was pretty disappointed with this new DLC.

First off, it is really short (this is an understatement, words fail to express how short it is), it is also not very exciting. Since zombies are coming at you much more frequently than in the other campaigns, this one comes off as very intense, but the level layout itself is pretty bland in comparison to some of the cool stuff we were treated to in the original campaigns. Though the finale is actually pretty interesting and quite different from the other finales, that is most definitely the highlight of this DLC. But honestly, the uniqueness of the finale doesn't make up for the fact that the rest of the campaign feels like something a 12 year old threw together with a level editor in half an hour. It is pretty clear that not a whole lot of time and effort went into this thing, and that it was very likely thrown together as a knee jerk response to the mass quantity of complaints pouring out of the internets regarding Left 4 Dead 2 being released merely a year after L4D one was released, and the expressed concern that L4D would be forgotten and never get all the extra DLC that was once promised for it.

Beyond being short and bland, it is horribly glitchy. This is a small complaint, since glitchy DLC is pretty common and usually fixed in a day or two, but it is still annoying that it is almost unplayable for the first two days of its existence. Perhaps they are working on the servers, because everytime I have tried to play this online, I lose the connection within a few minutes of playing and get sent back to the lobby. Many of the walls in the game are glitchy, and the infected can attack you through them. Once, I even got pulled into a large crate by a smoker, only to find myself permanently trapped in it once the smoker was dead. Fortunately I had a team mate who was kind enough to toss a gas can into the crate with me and shot it a few times allowing me to die a firey death and respawn. Or, at least I thought they were being kind and trying to help me, that is, until the same asshole fired a few shotgun rounds into me during the finale, helped me back up, then shot me a third time finishing me off. Jerk. Maybe he was just really pissed off that he had spend 560 MS points on it.

That GOTYE of Fallout 3 is definitely worth it. If I were you ChainsawAsh, I'd totally be prostituting myself out right now in order to get it. Some of the DLC for that game was pretty mediocore for the price you paid for it individually, but Broken Steel and Pointlook Out (and though I have not played it, I have heard The Pitt) were really good and added quite a bit to the game. Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta were both fun but extremely short and left you thinking your money could have been put to a lot better use. However, since they all come packaged together on the GOTYE in one hell of a deal of a package, the shortness and price don't really play much of a role in their judgement anymore. You can be sure all five DLC packs included with this will give you more of the Fallout 3 you've grown to love.

Since i love rpg's games i am looking forward to the most are.

Final Fantasy XIII

Fable 3

Mass Effect 2.

Hey at least one of the those three i can play fairly soon coming next January is mass effect 2 and i can't fuckin wait.

Final Fantasy has been delayed so many times so it could be on both the 360 and ps3 that i almost don't care anymore, but fable 3 might be a year or more away but it has to be better than 2 which was a bit of a disappointment though tons of fun anyway. The final boss has to be the biggest joke in video game history however.
