Angel, could you post a new picture of your lightsaber magic? Preferably one of the duel on the death star.

BTW...............How the F@#$ to you do that?

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I would stab a puppy to get my hands on that sandstorm scene.

Lovely.

Considering the sandstorm "scene" doesn't exist, you'll have to stab one hell of a lot of puppies.

Well I for one think it would be nice to show some sort if damage, the snow speeders 1st fire on the AT-ATs command cockpit with no luck and then the neck and it explodes.. *woohoo!!"

We see that other pieces fall off as it thunders to the ground, so why not make some action in font as well? Show us how their useless lasers actually manage to penetrate that awesome armor of theirs. Would not be that much work anyways.

Lucky shot? or precession shooting?

One idea could be to make the lasers on the snowspeeders capable of firing ala the R-TYPE fighter from the video game; instead of just shooting out your typical laser bolts, maybe said pilot could hold onto the trigger (not that you would show that), building energy until he fired a more powerful blast.

In the scene in question, rather than just showing the snowspeeders fire into the back of the AT-AT neck, create an energy build-up sound effect and show a much brighter laser blast come out of the speeder and into the back of the AT-AT neck.   The explanation could be that the rest of the AT-AT armor is ray-shielded and deflects rather than absorbs laser fire, so even if a snowspeeder pilot tried the energy built-up blast on the rest of the AT-AT, most of the energy would deflect off.

It is a shame there won't be an army of AT-ATs; it would have been cool to see the ion cannon turned on a AT-AT battalion...

I just watched some of the fan-o-matics on youtube, and it is amazing how added music can make a scene more dramatic and intense.

I still think that adding PT music (not noticible ones like battle of the heroes, duel of the fates) would help some of the boring Endor scenes alot.  Just background music.  John Williams has alot of variations of the force theme that should go in the OT.

I really would like to hear the goodbye old friend version of the force theme in the OT.  It is epic.

I personally don't think this would be a good idea, I don't like the principle of reusing cues from other SW films to put them into another one (this is why I have the Purist version of ANH): look at AOTC and ROTS, it just sucks how they copy-pasted the music from TPM ><

And what would be the point exactly? I mean think the music just works fine as it is IMO, and where could the Force Theme be put during the battle?

I didn't mean to sound rude at all (sorry if I did, my English sucks at times :P), it's just that I didn't like the principle of added music in ANH:R (even if Ady had his reasons, which I don't discuss) :)

PS: "Goodbye Old Friend" IS epic yes, but the fact is where could this be put into one the OT movies?

Something was mentioned on the other thread that made me remember about the fan film Tydirum - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVtJllP91Ig and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDlRQuys8S8 that was being made by some german fellas a few years back, but seems to have fallen by the wayside now as nothing has happened in a long time now. I also have (correction "had") an early trialer that runs quite a bit longer than those two that are still avalible and a interview with the creators (in german though).

Looks stunning, and remarkebly faithful to the OT.

Maybe the authors could offer some extra material for the endor battle in Jedi:Revisited if their project is now de-funked?

But Im getting that same negative-1 feeling with your posts (its that same smart-arsed personality, that jumps on select issues then tries to undermine everything some one says in your every post), but you just seem less informed and even less helpful than negative-1 is.

And you both have no SOH at all :-)

I was trying very very hard to bite my tongue then again, but christ, blow it!

Oh I don't try to undermine what everyone says at all, stop being melodramatic. Sure I make the odd sarcastic quip here and there, that's just me and I'm not the only one. But if I don't agree with someone's opinion, why not dispute it? This is a forum. Unless you'd rather have one of those forums where all you can do is kiss each other's butts, like fanedit.org?

Chill out, let's not get into a personal war. They lead only to the dark side. I promise to try and be less sarcastic, if that makes you feel any better. And no, that's not being sarcastic.  :-)

which track is the "goodby old friend" piece from? im assuming its in ROTS when obi wan says those very words, or is it something else?

also, is there a more elaborate soundtrack for the PT as there is with the OT? (ie 2 disc as oppose to 1)

Lol, you clearly missed some recent events at FE..org !

But you're right, we do like each others, most of the time, so what.

I'm sure you can find a more suitable target easily.

I have two suggestions for the end of ROTJ if they aren't mentioned yet:

1. Make the scenes longer! Put together scenes from the same place (choose between Endor, space battle or Luke/vader fight). For example the scene when Luke is winning over Vader and the emperor says "so be it, jedi" the scene should continuee with a short scene of Luke, then back to the emperor saying "If you don't want to be turned you should be destroyed!", make this a single sequence. When ultimately Vader (hurt) lays in Lukes arms, not until then they should cut to Han Solo running from the soon exploding base, and also put togehter the scenes when the rebel ships is attacking the death star in a long roller couster sequence.  Today the scene doesn't work because they first show the emperor, then the rebels, then BACK to the emperor like no time at all have occured (see the soap opera "the bold and the beautiful" for the art of stopping time!).

2. Put something in the reactor room! When the rebels fly in the reactor room it is very empty, no defence what so ever. I think it should be more difficult to get through, maybe some AT-ATs on the floor (!), flying tie fighters and some sort of inner shield protecting the reactor (maybe something similiar to the shield that surrounds MCP (the bad guy) in "TRON". Think videogame here, this should be the hardest room, not the easiest (just to fire in the middle is too easy and no tension, I think). This is the final episode of Star Wars and this should be the climax of the roller couster rebel attack, it should be breath taking (look for Simpsons ride-roller coaster at Universal studios for inspiration), see youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJGHCQXFlnM) also maybe the reactor room should be upside down or turned 90 degrees to the left or something.

What was the "not-good" reason? It all sounds very fanboy so far.

Although I did just read the ironic gem in the chatroom over there...
