Star Wars: In Concert; A Sign of More on the Way?

I just saw an ad for this on TV, and I was blown away:

http://www.starwarsinconcert.com/

Now, my logic is that this is kicking off way too close to the holiday season for their not be some sort of a product tie in.  Blu-ray maybe?  Something else...?

Is it just me or does the color correction that trailer look way better than the DVDs? The Tantive halls are white like in Ady's version

I passed a bus today with an ad for Star Wars in Concert.  It was very close to the picture on this page:

http://blog.newsok.com/bamsblog/2009/07/23/star-wars-in-concert-coming-this-fall-to-oklahoma-citys-ford-center/

Hmmm... does anybody seem to be missing?  I couldn't believe it!  It reconfirmed to me that the focus of Star Wars isn't what it used to be.

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

Where ya been??? :)

LOL under a rock apparently, 'cause I had no idea this was even in the works!  But it just goes to show you how little SW means to me anymore, and how I don't even bother keeping up on it and seeking out new things...thank Luca$ for that one! ;-)

Wow, what a poor oversight.  I'd be angrier, but since there isn't any huge image of "Anakin" (I only halfway count the Vader) brooding over everything, I assume it was an oversight rather than a deliberate prequel-shifting.  But, aaaah, how do you  make a Star Wars cast poster without Luke?!  It's madness!

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I think he was referring to me, not Luke.  But I am there, no worries.  I'm the conductor.

Actually the focus of star wars is the same it has always been, money.

Unless you were referring to it no longer being the adventures of luke skywalker replaced with a lie about it always being a six film darth vader story, lol.

George will never change my mind about anything, star wars is from the adventures of luke skywalker, he can try and say it is not i have the novel from 1976 and it does not say from the story of darth vader.

I find it incredibly annoying to have those bad prequel scenes in the same trailer with the other films, besides this is more special editions and prequels garbage and john williams is probably not the conductor.

The narrator says the greatest film saga of all time.  It was the greatest film saga up until 1997 and then 1999-2005 when lucas destroyed star wars.

Too bad my ticket sales contributed to its destruction had i known what i know now i would have boycotted the 1997 special edition and told all my friends and relatives that lucas was on a mission to ruin and bury the original films.  Meanwhile he was not content with just destroying star wars in 2008 he destroyed indiana jones.

The funny thing is based on the trailers of revenge of the sith and crystal skull and the positive critical buzz i was sold on these films and thought they would be good.  The previews were actually better than the movies i was sold a pig in a poke, not for the first time by lucas, but crystal skull would be the last time as five train wrecks of movies is quite enough. Man i always think to myself Lucas fans must be the biggest gluttons for punishment around, people keep ponying up the dough to eat up his latest table scraps and wash them down with a giant glass of fanboy kool aide, lol.

No, of course not.  I was referring to Ric Olie's absense from the picture...

Luke who?

So this is going to be the premiere of the "new" yoda from the Phantom Menace.

I'm surprised more "news" isn't being made about that.

They show a part of it in the "making of" special.

Yeah I got to attend the concert when it came here to my state. I have to tell you it was amazing! Getting to hear an entire orchestra playing all the great themes live. It was great and I can confirm that all episode I footage of Yoda is the new CG replacement. I also noticed that the Tantive looked more like Ady's than the DVD release. Hopefully that's a good sign.

Sweet the Third draft the one with the scene of luke telling Kenobi of knowing his diary of the clone wars.  The second one to feature the mystical kiber crystal.  The third draft kind of reminds me a bit of tolkien, can't explain why.

Has there ever been a complete fourth draft on the collectors market? The shooting script not the public version.

The one the jedi bendu site has is like all the others that have surfaced tons of scenes missing or cut, also missing the loose pages of rewritten dialog and scene updates.

I totally would dig reading a complete shooting script for star wars and revenge of the jedi.

The empire shooting script is believed to be the version out there written by Kasden which conforms to the novel and some scenes of dialog from the 70mm version of the movie.

I found the reading of the raiders shooting script to be quite fun seeing as Marion had the scenes Willie Scott later would get in doom like the mine cart sequence, but reacts completely differently.  I would have loved to have had a raiders part II then temple of doom, but that is my own preference, lol.

I was offered a shooting script with the additional pages and coloured inserts about a year ago but the seller was looking for really insane money for it so it got away from me.I have been chasing a second draft for some time as I know where one is but the guy is not for parting with it,lol.I have an original revised fourth draft as well. The third drafts are very very hard to find.I was very lucky to find mine and it remains one of my absolute favourites in my collection. There was a display on at NASA last year I think where there was Lucas' original handwritten script treatment for Star Wars which was pretty amazing to see.

I have a friend who has a Revenge of the Jedi script that he got from Peter Diamond which has all his stunt notations in it which is very cool.

If anyone is interested I can post some more pics of various pages from both my drafts?I could start a thread for it and put some up?

That's what I was noticing image wise on the website. So EPI finally has the CG yoda-how was it?

I've got my fingers crossed!

George thinking of releasing a third cut of the phantom menace, will this man's tinkering ever stop.  Thankfully it is crapisode 1 the phantom plot movie and not any of the original trilogy films being further ruined.  Still i won't buy it when it is released. When is episode 1 3-D gonna happen cause we all need Jar Jar in 3-D,lol.

Adding a cgi yoda to episode 1 will not make the film any better, just to make it consistent with those 2 video games that came out after it,lol. Though george could always reshoot the film sequences in HD cam for episode 1 to make it worse because film is infinitely more preferable to HD video, just like models are to fake cgi spaceships.

I don't like them replacing yoda in episode 1 with a cgi graphic since it opens the doorway to allowing them to do the same to empire strikes back and return of the jedi.

The concert was amazing. As for the CG Yoda in TPM, it looked good.
