I know the PT:R is a long way off but a hell of a lot of things will be changing drastically  in those films when i get to them.

*gulp*

haha dont worry Mr Olie. you will probably be safe (:

Mr Olie may be safe but his dialogue certainly won't be. lol

No! Don't ruin Cpt. Obvious! He was so brilliant in his obviousness. :p

For a long time I have been tempted to write an EU novel starring Ric. As a joke I would make every thing he says an observation. It would even be narrated by him. So the whole novel would be an observation of his observations.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Just dropping by to post this fan trailer I made for Revisited: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIYWrWVVIk8

I based the editing style off of the first teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode 2. If there's anything that Lucasfilm does right 100 percent of the time, it's their trailers.

A little OT, but I was playing with the Star Wars Soundboards and was wondering if anyone had links to the library as downloadable mp3s.  I found this link:

http://rs15.rapidshare.com/files/237208100/Star_Wars_Soundboard.rar

but it doesn't have a lot of the dialogue and effects.  These would work very nicely for a music project I've got going.

If anyone can help, feel free to PM me.  Thanks in advance!

O.T. or No T., baby!

Wow, a Ric Olie tale told in first person. Epic win.

"And then I pointed to Coruscant, which is the capitol planet of the Republic and also notable in that the whole thing is one big city, and I said to Anakin: Look, there's Coruscant. The entire planet is one big city."

That reminds me of one time I was late for English class and the teacher always made us write out a full page of whatever we wanted, as long as it was a page long. I basically made one run-on sentence that spanned hundreds of words that all related to the first few words. One of those 'he said that I said that they said that I said that he said...' things. And it worked! It's just like double negatives and how you just have to count the number of them. I wonder if I still have it somewhere...

I was made to write an essay for being late in class. So I wrote an essay that could only be read with a mirror.

What about the fine molds Falcon, have you started it Ady? Are you gonna do any modifications to the kit, LED lighting etc, or will you add effects post filming, thats what I'm keen to see, have you got any way to track the camera for some smooth shots?

J

The Falcon is going to be one of the last things i build along with the new rebel hangar. Its going to have the full lighting to match the studio model and the full size set model. I'm going to be building a camera rig so i can get the smooth motion needed

Ah.....

its not yet ready... :(

Since you will make the new hangar, are you going to add some more goodies on it? Like better mood and greater scale? More ice parts and better depth (like mc quarrie's paintings)? I still remember in the making of Titanic Jim Cameron used a mirror to add depth to the boiler room.

That hangar worths its brainstorm as well. except if ady will keep it grounded (crap)

Camera rigs and full lighting? Bloody hell Adywan, this is making ANH: R look like a cut and paste edit. How do you have the space and time for all these models and rigs?

I can't think of a better combination of words in a sentence then "PT" and "Drastic changes", except maybe for "Star Wars Revisited" and "complete". I think it's been said plenty, and really, it goes without saying, but nothing whatsoever in the OT should change to reflect anything in the PT. It was the PT's job, as the later films made, to conform to the OT, not the other way round, and I wish Lucas had understood that.

My try :)

Too extreme? Consider it as ideas that can be in. Like sparks, fires, tilt to camera, non centered shots Sunlight from cracks, more depth, more colors, etc.

Haha, looks like the Michael Bay version of Star Wars.

If I may add a slight change recommendation: When the collapsed AT-AT explodes after the snowspeeder shoots its neck, the debris pieces smashing into the snow, for some reason to me, makes the snow look very fake, and the whole shot look like the model it is.  Any way of touching up on the debris hitting the snow?

That one shot dominates any Star Wars special effect I have seen since the Star Destroyer boomed overhead. Beautiful.

Hey guys, remember that Tauntaun sleeping bag I posted way back on April 1st? No? Then here's a refresher:

Back then, the company said that they were going to try and get Lucasfilm to give them permission to actually sell them. Well, it has happened!

More info here: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Tauntaun-sleeping-bag-in-production/topic/10874/

That is the greatest sleeping bag-related news I've ever heard! =D

Victory! You really should start working on that novel at once.

Maybe you missed it, but see, this is Sev's new schtick; "complain" that Adywan is taking too long making models and delaying the release date...over and over again. (see his signature as well) Seems to me that he is partly joking and partly genuinely annoyed at Adywan (as if he owes us something) doing his thing the way he wants to do it. I can't really tell, even after all this time.

I actually don't think anything is unrealistic about the dates I posted. I doubt Adywan disagrees with them himself.
