Yeah, reading it again, it may just have been a joke.  I hope so, but it is very difficult to tell.

It's much easier with someone like Ric.  He never jokes around.

I am not joking!!!! You know you don't have to be so mean!!!!!!!! Its only a idea, no need to get unset and run crying to Jar-Jar Binks about it.

I run crying to Ric Olie, not Jar Jar.  But I can understand the confusion.

Still not sure if you're serious, but I don't want to keep doing this in Ady's thread, so it's the last I'll post about it.

It's in the bottom banner of any Adywan post (like the first one on this thread) but his email tends to get choc-o-block as does his private messages he pops on here regularly so if you make a post in here that tickles his fancy he will respond to it.

It may take a while as he is very busy all the time ( and not just with Star Wars he has a real life too) but be warned he doesn't share your view about the prequels.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone on this site (called 'originaltrilogy') who does share that view. Welcome to the forums anyway, Jedi93.

Depends from what POV you see the movies. And again we dont need a PT - OT war. Otherwise a prequeltrilogy.com should be up already :P

Edward Nigma (Enigmas) your avatar is one of the most hilarious pics on net . I wish i could see it with the phrase Holy shit this is awesome :P

LOL... I love you Ric Olie (in a manly, non-sexual way, of course).

Don't think this has been posted before. I just found the original McQuarrie concept art for Leia's room on Bespin:

I like that it includes a glimpse of the glass ceiling. Don't know if this is helpful at all, I believe Ady was just going to remove the extra roof bits from the SE shot.

EMPEROR: The Force is strong with him.  The son of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, grandson of Shmi Skywalker, nephew of Owen Lars, and distant neighbor of the late Obi-Wan Kenobi, whom he knew as Ben, must not become a Jedi, which is a person who is well trained and strong in the Force and opposes the Sith, which is what you and I are.

Time is running out for the Rebels. Antilles upcourt to Skywalker. He’s being paced by Darth Va— the bone-jarring pick by Solo! He came out of nowhere! Skywalker’s open from way outside, he launches at the buzzer... Good! It’s good! The Rebels win on a sensational buzzer beater by Luke Skywalker! Let’s take another look at that last shot. He just does get it off in time. Wow, what a shot. That’s why they call him Luke Legend.

That may be the most exciting battle I have ever been privileged to broadcast. Certainly the most dramatic finish. We’ll get you an update on the Artoo Detoo injury situation in just a moment. Right now let’s go courtside where SuperShadow is waiting with Chewbacca.

Tobar -  yeah, I aways liked the look of that original 'apartment' artwork too.  It ended up looking very different in the GOUT version, and the SE version at least tied things in a bit better with the actual ceiling as seen from inside the apartment's interior.  There was still some issues though.  Here's a shot that Sevb32 posted that shows how things could match that artwork even more -  http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/4093/building2q.jpg

And here's one of the posts at the time that included a shot of how the GOUT version looked like in comparison -  http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/STAR-WARS-EP-V-REVISITED-EDITION-ADYWAN-NEW-TRAILER-AVAILABLE-NOW/post/350723/#TopicPost350723

The whole 'Leia's window' /'apartment building layout' nightmare was considered at length with some interesting ideas from pages 289 ( http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/STAR-WARS-EP-V-REVISITED-EDITION-ADYWAN-NEW-TRAILER-AVAILABLE-NOW/post/350613/#TopicPost350513 ) onwards until page 296, where Adywan clarified what may happen at this point in the movie.  Personally I'm keen to see the 'roof' detail removed from the SE version, as Sevb32's example showed.

Yeah I remember the discussion, I was just surprised earlier when I found the concept art for it and thought I should post it. Nice recap for those that missed the discussion though! I agree I think the easiest and best way to handle it is to just remove the roof dome which is what I believe Ady said he was going to do.

I’m pretty certain the “pasting together phonemes” technique is not going to work, but if you want to hear what has come of my quixotic attempt, http://members.cox.net/capologist/newenemy2.wav

Despite the certain futility of this, I'd like to keep trying.  I need some help with things I can't do with the tools I have, if it can be done at all.

I need the dialog from the 2004 DVD with both the musical score and Darth Vader's breathing completely removed from Palpatine's speech.

I've uploaded another video this time with Ian in the picture (you don't need to tell me that some of the timing is off, but its just to see if the 'luke' works with the new footage) I mixed the audio from scratch again still using Musical Journey.... think it sounds better, sure I always say that.

Thats sounding pretty good now. I'm a long way off starting on the audio side of things but it does now seem possible to restore the "Luke Skywalker" line and return the conversation to its full original state

One things i've noticed when people have been making suggestions about the holo conversation is that some of the 2004 lines need to stay in because of what we know happened in the PT. Well You all need to eliminate the PT from your minds when making suggestions for the OT:R. I know the PT:R is a long way off but a hell of a lot of things will be changing drastically  in those films when i get to them.

What about the fine molds Falcon, have you started it Ady? Are you gonna do any modifications to the kit, LED lighting etc, or will you add effects post filming, thats what I'm keen to see, have you got any way to track the camera for some smooth shots?

O yes, thanks for the positive feedback a few posts back, I'm glad I was able to convince you that you could do it, on top of everything youre doing. Its not that 'young Skywalker' sounds bad, its just that I knew I had Ian saying 'Luke' somewhere (and he says it a few times in different tones) and I'd give it a go, keep up the good work

Mr Olie may be safe but his dialogue certainly won't be. lol

Replace his dialogue with Del Preston lines from Wayne's World 2. Just kidding. His character would be more believable if you just use his body language more. But I would miss his comedic effect.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

No! Don't ruin Cpt. Obvious! He was so brilliant in his obviousness. :p
