I think the community as a whole would immediately forgive George Lucas for all his transgressions--either real or perceived--if the theatrical cuts of the original trilogy showed up on Blu-ray with a proper restoration and clean 1080p transfer. Any anger towards him would completely dissipate (until somebody sees a lightsaber that's not quite as red as it should be, anyway).

I personally moved on from Star Wars a long time ago. There are too many good films out there that have received proper treatment to bother with something that kind of pisses me off whenever I watch it. Haven't watched any Star Wars anything in at least 3 years, actually.
