Hey,

I was wondering if anyone has made a preservation of the '93 VHS releases of the OT?

They were easily my favourite releases, there was something about the audio mix…

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone preserved it.

I've got DVD-Rs of the Faces VHS I never finished uploading, but might upload later since I'm not screaming for disk space. (atm it's bandwidth; I'm uploading 27 GB of videos for a friend)

The audio mix to me on all the VHSes I've ever watched seemed to be the 1985 mix, for which there should be rips around here somewhere...

"Right now the coffees are doing their final work." (Airi, Masked Rider Den-o episode 1)

Sorry, what I meant was Laserdisc. Wookieepedia assures me it is different.

This mix, digitally remastered by Ben Burtt and Gary Summers, was supposedly a mix of the best elements of all three original mixes. However, it is primarily a fold-down of the 6-track 70mm mix, with some mono mix elements and additional elements "dialled in".

Isn't that called the GOUT?

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Yeah, that was officially released on DVD in 2006 (the 2-disc set with the pre-SE trilogy on "bonus discs," which we not-so-lovingly refer to as the GOUT), and before that nearly every fan preservation attempt had been made using the 1993 DC/1995 Faces set, which is what you're referring to.

'kay. Didn't realise the GOUT was just the Laserdiscs. I would've thought LFL wouldn't have been so lazy. Well, thanks.
