The most obvious one is the death of the officer who's trying to grab his gun from the desk, but is hit before he can get it.

and 2 how in the hell can you say it's the same story, same movie, better effects.
you are so wrong about the effects!!
they sucked ass... you can tell when your looking at a CG character so hard!! ie Jabba, the two dancing dumbasses in jabba's palace in jedi...
you definatly lose the argument there!
same movie... semi except for the hundreds of effects added, dialogue added and scenes cut!
another loss for you!
and same story?
right... cuz greedo did take a shot a han first right? or Han could step on Jabba's tail with getting nothing less than a cheesy facial expression?
don't say its the same story... cuz generally it is about the same topic but with a whole load of other shit added in....
so i will give you some credit here because your half right... but didnt take into consideration all the changes which did in fact change the story...

1. The folk dancing scene at Bilbo's party replaced by a most amusing break dancing sequence, featuring a digitized Sam and Frodo and a rock band made up of Elves, Orcs and Tree herders.
2. Golem jumps into the lava in a selfless attempt to save the others. He screams as he falls.
3. Add more tree herders to to thos scenes in The Two Towers. Add some humourous CGI such as a big tree knocking a little tree on the head, or maybe kicking him into the air. Hilarious!
4. New scene added at the end of ROTK, showing the orcs celebrating the demise of Sauronin the previously unseen Kingdom of Orcs. Oooh pretty!

Now honestly, after all that, who COMPLETELY has the moral high ground? Who will the film critics respect? Him or us? I think you know the answer to that and that is the reason I will be here, petioning for the original cuts until the masters are completely gone or I am dead. I am in it for the long haul. And regardless if you buy these sets in September, aren't you still in this? Isn't the classics of the 70's and 80's as they originally were worth fighting for? If you answer that as a no or you don't know the answer, perhaps you shouldn't be here in the first place. May the Force Be with you.

But that's pretty much what happens. They also censored some of the scribblings on the bathroom wall that Valient falls out of in Toontown.
