There hasn't been much discussion about this project, but I recently obtained a copy of this DVD, and it really is fantastic! All of the best flash spoofs are included, including many I had never seen before. There's some really funny stuff out there! ThrowgnCpr really did a great job putting together a professional looking, very entertaining DVD. I couldn't recommend it more.

I'm just chiming in to say I watched this the other day and enjoyed it very much. The quality was excellent. And the cover really stands out from the rest of the discs on my shelf. A big thanks, ThrowgnCpr!

A single layer version of this is up on the spleen. A friend made it from the original dual layer using a 10 pass shrink with CCE and DVD-rebuilder. This is great quality. I made one a while back with 5 passes, and thought that one looked great.

Is this on a torrent anywhere? Downloading one fle at a time from Rapidshare every 90 min is a pain. Not to mention is takes forever.

How does one get a login for Myspleen?

I hate to ask this but how do I burn this DVD? The files I have are too large to burn using Nero.

which version do you have? The single layer or the dual layer? You can burn both with nero, you just have to have a dual layer burner (and discs) if that is the version you have.

I have the DVD5 version that was uploaded to myspleen. I do have a dual layer burner. But will I still need dual layer discs to burn this version?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I open Nero and drag the VIDEO_TS and DVD_ROM folders into a my video project. If I omit the DVD_ROM folder everything fits just fine. However I'm afraid if I do that I'll lose something cool. I like all the images in the folder and I didn't know if they were part of the extras.

Forgive me if I sound ignorant on this subject. I really appreciate your help in this.

aha, yeah this was brought up over at myspleen. This is not the SL version I created. Although this one is probably a bit better quality than the SL version I made. I originally released this DVD as a dual layer disc (was nearly 8GB). I then made a single layer version using DVD-Rebuilder and CCE with a 5 pass encode. I do not recall, but the extra stuff may have still fit on. This version you downloaded was created by a friend using the same method, only with 10 passes, so it is probably a bit better video quality that the SL version I made.

I included all of the original .swf flash files in the DVD_ROM folder. I would recommend omitting these when you burn the DVD. you get all of this footage on the DVD video anyway (that was the point of this DVD). I just included them originally in the DVD_ROM folder on the dual layer version because I had some room left and the files are relatively small. Removing those should clear up a bit of space for you. You can keep these on your hard drive or just get rid of them. I would recommend NOT re-encoding the DVD to be able to include this material on the DVD. It would degrade the video yet again.

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any more. :)

I'm only new to the fan edit scene and this was one of the first I downloaded.
Watching these brought back memories of waiting while downloading the Pulp Phantom episodes on dial-up. Great to see these live again....excellent work ThrowgnCpr

Where can I find this?

Fanedit.org and Fanedit.info have nothing on it.  Interestingly, Google’s cache has a copy of a fanedit.org page (http://74.125.93.132/search?q=cache:TwAGaR2ZOvgJ:fanedit.org/429/+%22star+wars%22+%22flash+of+spoofs%22 ), but there’s nothing there anymore.

Time is running out for the Rebels. Antilles upcourt to Skywalker. He’s being paced by Darth Va— the bone-jarring pick by Solo! He came out of nowhere! Skywalker’s open from way outside, he launches at the buzzer... Good! It’s good! The Rebels win on a sensational buzzer beater by Luke Skywalker! Let’s take another look at that last shot. He just does get it off in time. Wow, what a shot. That’s why they call him Luke Legend.

That may be the most exciting battle I have ever been privileged to broadcast. Certainly the most dramatic finish. We’ll get you an update on the Artoo Detoo injury situation in just a moment. Right now let’s go courtside where SuperShadow is waiting with Chewbacca.

FE.o under went a recent reorganization.  The site has split so that Fan Edits remained but anything which was a straight preservation went over to the above site.

Thanks.

Interestingly, that site has links to two versions, an SL version and a DL version.  The SL version is 2.96 GB, and the DL version is 3.72 GB.  A SL disc can hold 4.7 GB, so I’m a little confused.  Should I download the DL version and burn it to a SL disc, or is there a reason they’re labeled this way?

those are sort of false sizes.  that is the total size of the rar archives for each one.  The reason they compress so well is that the audio is PCM (PCM audio compresses really well in zip and rar archives).

The DL version is around 7GB, while the SL disc is around 4.3GB after it is unpacked.  So, you will need a DVD+R DL disc for the DL version, or a SL DVD for the SL version.

Let me know if you have any other questions or comments on the project :) this was one of my favorites to work on!
