Actually, I recently read an article in the Wall Street Journal that states that Lego is dumping many of their license lines to save on costs since Super Bloks are making such a big move in the marketplace. SW is not one they're dumping yet. But they are cutting back on the spending they do on that line because it's not selling as much. With the company in the financial straits they are in, there is no way they paid LFL for this.
Lego lost a lot money last year, and has promised a return to basics, but a spokesperson clarrified that they will still have starwars, harry potter etc, its just htat they are going to focus the releases of new products for these lines to years when the movies are coming out. He also said that what they meant by scaling back was no more video games or bionicle movies, theyare going to stick with actual Lego and not spin off multimedia and merchandise.
