Here's a try at expanding McQuarrie's unused matte of Endor into something useable. Not finished yet, but you get the idea. I'll be replacing the mountains with something more realistic and maybe the trees, but the design is pretty fixed. This is scaled down to about 20% of the actual image resolution and, for some reason, greens always scale down into oversaturated lime!

I like my gas giants without rings :p

If that's at 20% of the original, I'd love to see the original! That is beautiful work.

The majority of gas giants near us have rings and Yavin didn't which are good reasons for Endor to have them, it makes the place different, especially if we see it during the exciting space battle.

Stop posting images with style="float: left;" in the tags. That's why they're all piling on top of each other. I'm going to put a filter in the editor so that crap won't make it through any more.

Now quit messing up my forum.

I know this is off topic, but does anyone else think that Ric Olie's pic looks like Norm MacDonald?

That's the best argument I've heard for keeping Shaw in the ending scene, cap. Lucas' explanation that Anakin truly died when he became Darth Vader and therefore his ghost would look like Hayden is a stretch, and if its a matter of choice of what to appear as, why wouldn't Obi-wan and Yoda choose to look younger (thank goodness Lucas doesn't think like that)?

Since its technically a hallucination of Luke's or he chooses to see them as he knows them, Shaw as Anakin makes sense. He's never seen a picture of his father, how could he imagine what he looks like (and don't tell me, "The Force!")?

Thanks, 005, but I think I did not fully convey the abstraction I was trying to describe.

The way I see it, Luke is sensing the presence of Ben, Yoda, and Anakin with the Force, not with his eyes, so it doesn’t matter whether he knows what Anakin looked like as a young man.  The question is, in this moment of celebration after the destruction of Death Star II, when Luke “sees” Ben, Yoda, and Anakin, which Anakin does he see?

If Luke sees a hot-headed young man who was jerked around by the Jedi Council and the Chancellor of the Republic, then we should see Hayden Christensen.

If Luke sees a loving father who didn’t realize he was still capable of love until it overwhelmed him and he turned on his master, sacrificed his own life, and brought down the Galactic Empire to save his son, then we should see Sebastian Shaw.

Time is running out for the Rebels. Antilles upcourt to Skywalker. He’s being paced by Darth Va— the bone-jarring pick by Solo! He came out of nowhere! Skywalker’s open from way outside, he launches at the buzzer... Good! It’s good! The Rebels win on a sensational buzzer beater by Luke Skywalker! Let’s take another look at that last shot. He just does get it off in time. Wow, what a shot. That’s why they call him Luke Legend.

That may be the most exciting battle I have ever been privileged to broadcast. Certainly the most dramatic finish. We’ll get you an update on the Artoo Detoo injury situation in just a moment. Right now let’s go courtside where SuperShadow is waiting with Chewbacca.

Jay, you are clearly working hard at trying to improve the forum and perhaps this is overheating your protocol circuits.

If you had sent me a private message requesting me not to dress to the left (something I have done since starting on here) I would not have replied in a public way.

It's not my intension or that of any member on here to "mess up your forum".

In fact without being asked I have been going through my images and when I see one unnecessarily oversized I have reduced it to help improve the flow of the forum.

Most of us were assuming that any aesthetically wonky images would pop into place once the upgrades were complete.

I reported the situation in the proper place and we have all been responding to any hiccups in a jolly and jestful way.

Posting on here has become a very important and enjoyable part of my day and hopefully will continue to be as such.

I have removed styles and fixed every image posted by myself that I can find that isn't on kilter, if anyone spots any I have missed please let me now and I will adjust them.

So before I repost without messing up anyone's forum, can someone (Bingo!) quickly tell me what I'm doing wrong when I post? Cheers.

It's possibly best to post your question to http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Picture-problems/topic/10810/

as I did.

I posted an example of an image as I had been posting here and Jay was able to figure out what the issue was.

In my case it was using a style option, as Jay advised when I switched that off and my images slotted back into place.

Perhaps you are having a different problem so posting there would be a good way of getting the attention of Jay (who has been clearly busy).

Here goes. Bingo, I thickened up the trees for you :-)  It did look a bit too pretty, like a park. While I don't think all planets should look the same all over, I don't want to vary it too much. So, slightly more foresty. I also tried making the planet bigger but it didn't look right.

See, this is why you need me.  You still need me to point out the obvious: I'm much more handsome than that other guy.

Just look at him - too much hair, not pixelated enough, clearly enjoying himself too much with some awful drink in a ego-mug.  I'm much more of a catch.

Yeah and you were the best damn roadie ever. You made sure Ozzy got his brown M&Ms and played a good show that night.

At least you guys get to go places. I won't be leaving the hell hole that is Tennessee for quite sometime. >:O

Really? That's cool. I love Brighton, I was only joking that the only holiday I've got time or money for this year is a weekend in Brighton because it's so close it's not really a holiday for me. Great place, although last time I was there I got stuck by a fucking needle some c**t had left on the beach. Please pardon my French, everyone, but you can imagine my horror.

Still Brighton is a great place, I just need to go somewhere else for a looong break. My pic is making me pine for the Lake District...

I love seeing this thread so full of life, it was just crawling along before the other two "main" edit threads (ESB: R and Prequal Radical Redux threads) until recently, now I visit after two or three days and it's got five new pages of content.

I really can't wait for ROTJ: R, it's my most anticipated of any of the Revisited series, and these ideas and mockups will be a catalogue of great material by the time Adywan finishes ESB: R, plus wven when he's done, ROTJ will be ready for loads more fanedits to happen, with drastic changes. ROTJ has never really been done, has it? I mean, there's been a few fanedits, but never anything major. I know Adywan's PT : R trilogy will be brilliant, but there's been loads of PT edits, hundreds, and a lot of great ones, and there wll be great oens in the future, but ROTJ has never had such attention given to it before, and it is going to be aboslutely brilliant to see it restored, renovated (as such) and revived like this.

I cannot wait.

As for the holotable adding a bit of under seat lighting does put a bit more life into the set:

Holotable

I think that darkening the room and adding glow is unnecessary, but this is an interesting idea. I would prefer it to be more subtle, though, like there are shimmering rays that become visible only occasionally to indicate that the image is being drawn by laser beams. Like how the light from a movie projector looks in a dusty room, or how falling raindrops would look upside-down.
