Artoo in canyon in 1993 version of ANH

I keep hearing that in the 1993 version of ANH when Artoo's in the canyon the scene is darker than in the original.

Can anyone post comparison pics here?

Or, if not, tell me how much of a difference it was.

Also, I'd like to hear people's ideas on why this happened.

The comparison is between the JSC laserdiscs, which were overly bright to begin with, and the DC/Faces laserdiscs - it may not have been a deliberate change, in other words.

But when Lucas darkened it more in 1997, it seemed like a possibility.  I don't think we'll ever know for sure.
