Ok. I just noticed a few things in Empire that I wanted to ask about. Sorry if these were mentioned before (and I'm pretty sure that some of them were).

When Leia tells the pilots about the evacuation, one of them is holding the X-wings laser (?). Then he let's go the prop moves. I think that a space ship/star fighter would be more solid. Hopefully this screene will clarify what I'm talking about.

Ady, will you be making any changes to the glass screens in echo base? They don't seem to be very helpful and yet the woman somehow knows when to launch the first transport (I think someone mentioned this but I can't find it so...)

Also will you change the panel on the Executor?

Finally, and don't get me wrong here because I don't want to start a whole thing about the snow battle but will you be replacing this shot (I'm almost sure someone asked about this ;/)?

Thx.

This bothers me as well. I remember noticing in the new Star Trek movie that there was a similar glass panel used that I thought would be nice as a visual example of how to upgrade the glass panels of the Hoth base, but I don't exactly have a visual reference to show, seeing as the movie isn't out on DVD yet.

I keep expecting Lucas to attempt to animate the panels like these in the OT, when I heard that the DVDs had been altered beyond the 1997 versions it was the sort of thing I expected to see (I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or relieved).

If someone was to try it, it would be a lot of hard work and it could go very wrong if over done.

I'm assuming it's a repesentation of the situation in space (which might not change very quickly) perhaps adding a few slow moving elements could convey the Imperials getting into position and coming into range.

But it would be a major hassle during the shots of the set battle damaged, surely the screens would go blank after smashing?

I get your point Bingowings, and I would be all for it, screens that show some progress or at least an animation of the sit-rep. Of course, as you say, if over done it would ruin the idea.

Where in the Star Trek movie is the example you're thinking of ?

OH...I know the thing you're talking about...it's the one with the thing on it, showing the thing, when everyone is looking at the thing when it's doing something. Why didn't you just say so?.........

sorry about the quality

Yes, that's the scene I was referring to. Too bad we don't have a video version to watch for how it looks, but as soon as I saw that in the movie I automatically thought "ESB:R!"

007, I don't recall which segment of the movie the scene appears exactly, but I think it is shortly after first seeing the Enterprise for the first time in the movie.

hey, I paid to see the movie 4 times, and I will be buying the 3 disc blu-ray as soon as it's released. I think I have the right to post a quick screenshot from a bootleg I found streaming on the internet lol

well that's not exactly true, first time I had a free ticket and the third and fourth times the tickets were at a reduced student price lol

It is actually the scene after Spock resigns when Kirk and co are planning their attack on the Narada. and you can find a streaming version online *google hint hint*

Haha. Yeah, I meant to go see it again on cheap night ($4), but didn't end up doing so. I'm not crazy about it, but I am looking forward to the inevitable deleted scenes.

I agree about the screen. I didn't think ESB:R! when I saw it, as some did, but it definitely has that feel. I think even if some blinking red lights moved in some sort of path along the glass, it would gussy it up a lot.

It creates a bit of a set continuity if the screens are animated in ESB:R and not in ANH:R (where what's going on in space would be even more necessary to monitor).

I'm actually for adding little blinking lights or dotted lines to the panels to liven them up but not animation. That's overkill IMHO.

Maybe in the "Prepare to open shield!" shot add a line of small blinking lights to the panel to subtly suggest the growing armada of star destroyers encircling the planet?

Good findings Zak. I forgot about the X-wing laser prop jiggling, but it had always bothered me. Any small upgrade to the glass displays would be welcome. Weren't there similar glass panels at Base 1 during the Death Star attack in ANH:R?
