Lovely mockups Angel but even your abilities can't stop that wall of saber bait from looking hilarious.

It looks like they are doing the Conga.

Hahahaha!.... Conga XD

Trust me. The sail barge scenes have LOT of chances to become a decapitation massacre :)

Edit: I hope Ady will Strongly Consider Re crop some unfocused/centered/ boring shots and add some depth and focal depth.

I think its better composition. :)

The composition of the one on the right is a big improvement, but I prefer the color pallet and black levels of the one on the left-- particularly the black in the emperor's robe, and the shadowy appearance of the area where he's standing. It feels more like he's been watching from the shadows the whole time, and is now stepping out to give his 2¢, which I believe was the original intention.

What i did is to add a smoke layer ;) the levels are the same.

Smoke=depth

Different shades=depth

Hmm... I suppose if the smoke were moving it'd look better, then.

The moving elements are not my job :P

Anyways. tried to add some life to that set.

The thing that always bothered me was that we never saw the surface of the DSII from Palpatine's spire (I mean it wasn't that high up from the surface in the first place - so I could never understand why they never experimented a little bit more with it in the two Special Editions). I love all your mock-ups of his Throne Room looking out at part of the battle station and at the wonderful new starfield you've added. Would it be possibe to add a couple of TIEs sweeping past his window, or is that a bit too much? (Though actually in the shot previous to this there were some TIEs that went towards and around his spire - so it'd add some continuity).

EDIT: And my oh my, you have indeed added life to that set.

For a single image it is much. in motion I agree ;) Not only 3. bring some more. We see ties flying around that metal ball all the time. ( considering how, if the shields are up? hmmmm)

Excellent. I'm quite sure that there'll be some full motion TIEs going past 'ol Palps window come 2012. As much as I'm looking forward to TESB:R...ROTJ:R is the one I'm really interested in seeing complete. TESB was always a masterpiece :)

A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Again and again...has to happen. Angel's favourite food must be pork sandwiches, but we all know he's hungry for something different now.... (sorry about that, but guess where I got it from - it's kind of a quote, but obviously tailored to fit in with what you said - I know, very silly of me) :)

Anyway @ Angel and any other mock-up guys - I was wondering if you could duplicate the shot from ROTS where all the 'batteries' are firing at one another from inside their ships (during the battle above Coruscant) but add stormtroopers and rebels firing at one another instead - that would be such an epic couple of shots :)

I'd like to see the Renegade Flight battle at the start of Empire. Anyone whose listened to the NPR Empire Strikes Back drama will know what I mean. I think it'd be a better opening scene.

My fav food is spaghetti lol.

Besides the fun. Im hoping for some more inside shots of star destroyer crew or rebels to shoot the cannons.

But not with the too CGI way of ROTS ;)

Hahahaha, that was freaking hilarious :D

It was a quote from Dexter that I changed a bit, since he likes pork sandwiches and actually kills bad guys again and again because it has to happen:)

- Anyway that is exactly the thing that would make the battle in ROTJ:R so epic - and obviously not OTT CGI like ROTS :) I might have a go at doing a couple of mock-ups, but I know you'll come up with awesome ones that would look like official pics. ;)

Tada! My very first mock-up on this site (excluding that fishtank one I did of Vader btw). Forgive me for the crudity of it since I didn't spend a long time on it - and it does indeed look like it's from a videogame, lol. This is a shot of a rebel getting ready to fire at a Star Destroyer during the Battle of Endor. You'll recognise the canon from somewhere....

EDIT: And look at this anamatic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCQEm2QLFZo

Awesome huh? This guy's good and Adywan should contact him when he works on 'Jedi'. Be sure to check his profile out for more clips. Such awesome stuff.

EDIT 2: Ah, so Ady does know about him (since he commented on the guys Hoth clip) :)

Hey all, first time-long time!

This is a huge thread and I've read through most of it, apologies if this has been posted. If so, I guess I'm just here reinforcing the idea. Anyway, my suggestion for ROTJ ending:

I was never 'happy' with the ending in general. The celebratory Ewok thing. Specifically, I'm talking about the close-up sequence in the village itself. The hugging and kissing and that drrrreadful group shot at the end to wrap it up. I do however, like the panoramic shots of Ewoks celebrating outside the village and things like the fireworks and X-Wings flying overhead.

So, my ideal ending would consist of exterior shots of the village celebration to get the feel for "hooray, we won" and THEN cut to the scene of Luke igniting of Vader's funeral pyre. Then, the closeup of Luke while he watches the pyre. Then the distant shot of luke watching the pyre, from the back. Then cut to credits. This seems to end on a down-note in a way, but if you use the music that is currently used before the cut to credits, I think it could bring the mood up a bit. But this isn't even necessary.

I feel like this arrangement is much more dramatic. Much more theatrical. Much more conclusive and way less Disney spirited.

Other smaller changes I'd like to see in ROTJ:

Jabba's Palace

-When we see Lando for the first time and he pulls his mask down to reveal to the children, "Don't worry, kids! It's just me, Billy D" that whole shot is useless. The shot should end right before he pulls his mask down. Him pulling his mask down makes no sense whatsoever.

-When Leia is caught freeing Han, a curtain is pulled back to reveal Jabba and friends 'ambushing' our heroes. The lighting in Jabba's alcove seems a bit too bright and makes the puppets/people look a little Muppety and less menacing. This might be a nice sublte change to keep the overall sinister tone of this scence.

-Some of Han's dialogue in this movie is...mediocre at best. When 3PO is telling them the details of the Sarlacc, I'd suggest removing the funny quips. These remarks seem a little out of place and too campy/corny. I've never liked them. I'd just replace the shots of him talking with shots of him not talking or shots of 3PO or even shots of other creatures in the Palace (this being the best option). Aside from me purely disliking the dialogue, I think a guy who is disoriented as much as Han is and suffering from a sickness and being sentenced to death wouldn't be squeezing in comedic zingers every chance he got. Plus, in the other two movies, he was never this sassy. He can still keep his sass when he tells off Jabba from the barge.

Jabba's Barge

-When Luke is awaiting the delivery of his lightsaber, he seems to stand there with his hand extended for a second or two longer than he would be allotted by a ship full of thugs. maybe cuta few frames out of this shot so that he jumps, lands and gets the saber in a tighter motion. (Also, a similar suggestion for the scene when Luke's robotic hand gets shot; the shot of his hand is there for a few seconds too long before getting shot. Essentially slowing the action down. Removing a few frames before his hand get's shot will make this flow much better).

Death Star

-The exterior shot of the Emperor's throne tower has a shot of a couple TIE fighters swooping by; when the scenece cuts to the interior, it would be great to see the fighters fly by outside the window, in the distance.

-When Luke is hiding from vader during their battle, and Vader is reading his feelings/thoughts, I wouldn't mind hearing a little Obi-Wan voiceover (bury your feelings...etc). This may not work as good as I'm picturing it, but it might be cool. Like when Luke closes his eyes he "hears" these words again, and then he opens his eyes. This actually fits in the scene decently, time-wise.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm omitting the obvious smaller things (better sabers, more action, less Ewok etc...)

I can't tell you how much I look forward to EP 5 and 6. EP4: Revisit changed my life!

Nice that you posted the link again, because I was going to do it as well!  I've been updating the list today with some of Vaderios' mockups to make it more of an illustrated guide of what the suggestions mean.
