Yup! It's wonderful :)

Jengo is a another thing Lucas screwed up.

Obi-Wan is sent to investigate a clue to the identity of the Bounty Hunter trying to kill Padme (who is trying to stop the creation of a new army). He follows him to a planet where they are making an army using Jengo as the template and then to a planet where Dooku is building a droid army (and Fett acts like his personal bodyguard) they use one army to fight the other and don't twig?

Someone has to seperate those two plotlines somehow.

Couldn't he follow Fett but Fett gives him the slip and he finds the Seperatist fleet massing near Geonosis?

Lucky break yes but at least Fett isn't directly linked to both armies.

If I had my way, he wouldn't be the template for the clones either. There's no purpose in having him be the template other than as a fan service. He should be an assassin working for the Seperatists. Nothing more. The only reason he's even on Kamino is because the stupid plot needs him to be there so that obi wan can accidentally come across a secret clone army that the republic/jedi don't know about, but are apparently happy to use, despite the fact it clearly wasn't commissioned by them).

The clones should not be a secret, because the Jedi then using and continuing to use them, defies logic.

Also, the whole sifo-dyas thing went absolutely nowhere, and makes no sense either. Our first thought is that Sifo-dyas is a pseudonym for Sidious, but it turns out that there actually existed a Jedi called Sifo-Dyas. Errrr WHAT?!

Seeing as we can't realistically cut out Kamino simply due to issues of run time (it's an utterly pointless part of the story otherwise) and if we take away the Jedi's ignorance of the army as well as Jango being the template, then we need to find a different reason for him being there. And a way of conveying that Kamino is not some mystery planet. That Obi Wan knows what's being done there.
