I am getting a lot of corrupted data with the Jedi Proper. After downloading the file quickpar shows 7 missing files and 30 damaged files. With all of this missing data the par files arent't enough to reconstruct the file. My news server is Giganews and I use Grabit to get the data. Any idea guys? As it stands now I will need a lot more par files to fix the data.

People are complaining about Giganews and their crappy corrupted files problem on other forums. It's not just Jedi, try a different newshost. I use Astraweb and rarely ever have issues like Giganews people.

Thanks Wookie Groomer. I just signed up with Astraweb. I am re-dowloading some of the files that were corrupted via Giganews. I hope this fixes my problem. As for Giganews, I have been with them for 3 years and until recently I haven't had any problems with corrupted data. In any event Astraweb is 10 dollars a month cheaper than Giganews with the same retention so I will be dropping Giganews.

Easynews has been letting me down too, for what it's worth!

Anyhow, forgive my ignorance if this has already been mentioned, but I noticed the orginial New Hope bluray posted, aka Star.Wars.A.New.Hope.Bluray.1080p.BD50.WookieGroomer is 33.74 gigs in size, the proper release is 37.39 gigs, and the final fixed release is 33.23? Any one know why they're all different sizes? Just curious!

Thanks WG, but errr... I am merely a human and can not find the post.

Can you please give me a clue to what I could search for, as it doesn't come up under your name 'nospam@no.spam (WookieGroomer)'.  Sorry to be a pain and please ask your misses to go easy, your amazing work is 'in' demand!!!

LMAO... I opened the previous version of 'ANH' and it got stuck again... silly me... almost thought 'Oh no not again' but it's KooL and 'ANH' is working fine... I think.

I say I think... because... the audio delay seems noticable when playing via the index file, such as say playing as a standard BluRay disc.  Playing the index file through TMT (Total Media Theatre) seems to have a few miliseconds of delay.  However when I play the stream files directly through TMT or MPC-HC (Media Player Classic Home Cinema) it plays perfectly well.

I know, I'm being a pain, but can anyone out there please confirm if it is just me?  I'm about to update my Nvidia drivers to 190.62 (for Windows 7 x64) which I doubt will make much difference to this issues, but you never know!?  Anyway, if some could try the above and see if works better or the same please, it would be great to know.

Lastly, what can be done about the 'DTS mix' on 'ANH'... is this something to re-build on future work or have you really given up on it?  No way of salvaging the audio from the damaged BD?  I only ask as I'm not a huge fan of Dolby, but it'll do if other options are to much effort?

The files on the group are called FazZFazZFazZFazZ I thought it would be obvious.

The DTS track is toast. I would have to start from scratch and strip all the audio assets from several different sources and remix it again just to make up for those few minutes missing from that shit failed BD burn and then in turn could result in a different sync issues or some other new problem. I don't have the original project files anymore so working the project wil be difficult and tedious.

My work here is finished. What's out there is the last of the pojects I'll be sharing but I'm confident the final 3 are fine. For what small flaws they may have they are still far and away the best of what's currently available and unlike anything that's available.

For anyone finding this post in the future I have posted a rar file to the newsgroups Aug 24, 2009 called "Wookie Groomer Star Wars Trilogy NZB Archive.rar" it contains the 3 nzb files needed to grab the correct final versions without any confusion. Also posted are the raw nzb files ready to drag and drop:

Wookie.Groomer.Star.Wars.Episode.IV.A.New.Hope.2009.Bluray.Edition.nzb

Wookie.Groomer.Star.Wars.Episode.V.The.Empire.Strikes.Back.2009.Bluray.Edition.nzb

Wookie.Groomer.Star.Wars.Episode.VI.Return.of.the.Jedi.2009.Bluray.Edition.nzb

Most quality newshosts have a file retention of nearly a year or even longer.

Very obvious... yet when I looked up posts just by you (WG) it would normally show everything else you have posted, but not my little (very kind) gift.  I had tried 'FazZ' before but didn't work, then I searched for the 'FazZFazZFazZFazZ' it came up straight away via a.b.starwars.  No idea, but show that my search method doesn't work so great.

Thank you and for your amazing work!!! [^_^]

Hmm... I'm even thinking of ripping the DTS Audio from the damaged m2ts and fill-in the gaps with DD.  Odd I know, but may work and would at least mean a 'mostly' DTS version was there. d[-_-]b

I grabbed ESB last night, burnt to a BD50 and watched it this morning and just want to say a massive thank you Wookie Groomer.  It's a real pleasure to watch and I'm so grateful that you persevered with this project.

I'll have ROTJ in 20 mins and burnt to a BD50 for this evening's viewing (Astraweb also gets a thumbs up from me - Gigganews is just so full of holes these days) and will grab ANH overnight, so once again THANK YOU!!

I'm almost afraid to ask but you comment that what's out there is the last of your projects that you'll be sharing...does this mean that you don't intend to release BD50s of Episodes I, II and III?

Any one else getting CRC errors on part 91 of the reposted (final) New Hope? I've redownloaded that file twice?

Will let you know - I'm just about to start grabbing it overnight (in the UK)...!!

Burnt Jedi to a BD50 earlier and just finished watching it and I've got to once again raise my glass to Wookie Groomer for a job well done!  Picture is so sharp I almost cut myself on it and the audio is perfect. I also saw that the end credits 'freeze out' around three-quarters of the way through but what the heck, I'm in it for the movie and it's an awesome presentation....thanks WG :¬)

Next stop, ANH!!

Nope. All files working. All films watched. All love for Wookie Groomer. \[^_^]/

I still don't have a working menu for Jedi (as in blank menu backround) even with the replacement files that WG was 'ever' so kind to repost for me, but no matter, I can still find the text when I hover around the screen and can still navigate to the film eventually too.

My only wish would be to have enough time to build my own DTS audio track from 'ANH' and shove it in, but life isn't so simply currently, so it'll have to wait.

Oh and... Three cheers for WG, the Jedi Master!!!

On 'SW: ROTJ' I'm only missing the last 8 seconds of the credits, then it just jumps back to the menu (blank background menu in my case) but never hangs... but then we are using a decent/recent OS which hasn't really crashed sinced we've had it, as it bRudy should be. [^_^]

Is it just me or is 'SW: ROTJ' noticeably darker in brightness & contrast compared to Ep: IV & V

Thank Gawd (& Wookie Groomer!) for PAR files - Easynews had posted a bogey part91; got it sorted though! (Funny thing is, if there are even 6/7 good blocks in a file, they usually don't post it at all, meaning you often can't reconstruct with the PARs and have to look for missing files elsewhere!)

Anyhow, just wondering what people are using to burn ANH seeing as it's not an ISO? Just Nero?

Just settling down to watch AHN having successfully grabbed it without need for Pars / repair off Astraweb and burnt to a BD50.  Pnag; just use Imgburn and burn files to disc...that's what I did.

Right-oh, stormtropers just about to blast through the door so I'm going to bother my neighbours with my suround sound!!!

WG - looking very, very nice indeed!!  Again, thanks for all you've done on these.

W00t! Got them all, burn Empire and Jedi and they look sooooooo good! Again, three cheers for WG!

In other news, when it comes to burning the ANH folder (as it's not an image) and folks such as Wideload said to use imgburn, will that create it as a 'proper' blu-ray movie disk? Not trying to split hairs, just wondering, cause I know that if I burnt dvd folders (VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS) as a data dvd, while a PC would play it as a movie, a dvd player wouldn't, necessarily?

Any tips, guys?

Cheers adywan! ANH is burning away now.

Just tried Jedi, and the picture's superb. I'm getting the black menu problem too, but I expected that as I'm also using Arcsoft Totalmedia theatre, and it's no biggie.

I'd say the menu is slightly non standard (as in, not exactly 1920x1080, or something like that!)

Have you noticed that when you select Dolby 5.1 and skip chapters, it takes about 5 or 6 seconds for the soundtrack to catch up? Only happens on Jedi, and again, this is in TMT!

Yes I've noticed this too and just with Jedi. That is burnt to a BD50, Jedi's soundtrack takes at least 5/6 seconds to catch up. This doesn't happen with ANH oe ESB burnt to BD50.

Hi.

So I see threads about these 1080p amazing-looking versions of the saga, done by you guys, but when reading said threads, I only see info about files that I can't find being burnt to DVDs, and sometimes not working, etc.  Is there any way to get these in a simple format to just watch on my 1080p laptop?

Thanks!
