It does but the problem is the manner of the kick itself.

If you compare it to Maul's kicks in TPM, which seem like genuine martial arts moves, it's almost a comical distortion of anatomy to have a now seasoned Jedi taken down by a backwards shin kick which Dooku delivers from below his knee.

It's almost as if he has for some inexplicable reason Dooku decided to stand on one leg and Anakin has just run into his foot.

When Maul boots Obi-Wan in the face it's still a surprise but it looks more deliberate.

I wish we could rotoscope some moves from early Jackie Chan movies because even when the action sways close to the comical it still feels physically plausible.
