As for the added music to the briefing room... love it. In fact, I find it's the best addition out of all the added music (very subtle and, like ImpFighter said, makes the scene much more ominous).

I agree on both accounts. While the Battle of the Heroes music has always been 50/50 with me, I love the briefing room music. It adds an indirect gloom to the meeting that was there, but not as prominently. And the tremors in the strings while Vader is choking Motti are absolutely perfect.
