"So what else can be done?" - Ok. And forget Ady's work: it's done, and it's been done in respect to everyone's expectations. Proof is here.
Let's take it easy with the "restoration" description being applied to ANH:R. The color-correction aspect could be described as restoration, yes. But this is a fan-edit of the highest-order. And I mean that in a complimentary manner, both in what Ady strove for and what he achieved.
With that said, NOTHING tops SW77 for me, followed by ANH81. ANH:R is a nice occasional alternative, but it's not a replacement for my viewing. I watch Star Wars probably once every 2 months, fwiw.
