Thanks Dark Jedi,
My brain is obviously frazzled, and I was thinking if there was a delay on the file of -80ms (so the audio starts before the video), then perhaps I have to set a delay of 80ms to get the audio to start later, and so get back in sync.
DelayCut gives me the option to delay the star and end times in ms. So if I want the audio to start 80ms later, I thought I would delay the start by 80ms. If I wanted the audio to start 80ms earlier I would delay the start by -80ms (or 'trim' 80ms off the beginning).
If I had a delay of -80ms, and I set the delay start time to -80ms haven't I just delayed the start to -160ms?
I guess it's the difference between delay and trimming??
On a related note, I wanted to try and sync the French and Spanish audio from the region 1 DVDs to German HD captures posted on Usenet. Without seeing the waveform to sync to, how exactly would I do this? Or do I convert the AC3 to WAV as a guide, line up the waveforms on the opening fox fanfare, and then calculate whether I have to add silence or trim my ac3 files?
Many Thanks
