All credit for the covers goes to Segaflip,he did those up for our release years ago,I am thinking about just altering it for this release.

Yes there are some updates,ALL manual IVTC is done,finally,and we are working on finishing up a script now,I am also clearing up drive space for ESB.

We are still working on that,should have more samples soon,the manual IVTC is a bitch amongst other things,I think the 97' SE Trilogy is going to be a piece of cake compared to this Trilogy.

It is right between the scene change,it is also the very start of the LD,and to me it seems to have the same interlace pattern,but I am so tired of looking at this now maybe it isn't.
For this problem (and possibly even the whole film), I highy recommend using animeIVTC. It is hands down the best automated avisynth IVTC tool I've ever used. Try the settings (mode=1, aa=0, killcomb=0). The default killcomb setting is 1, but I'd steer clear of it as it ever so slightly softens fine image detail. The 1 setting is best for slightly noisy VHS sources that don't have any fine detail in the first place - it shouldn't be needed for a decent LD capture.

That filter works pretty damn good on those F'd up scene changes,but it surely won't do the whole film,some spots are really messed up looking with this filter,so I am trying to do my manual IVTC but throw this in to clean up just those few F'd up parts,but every time I run it,right when it goes back to my manual settings it repeats itself for some reason,then moves on,here is what I have,now keep in mind this is just a sample part of the script,I am just messin around see'ing if it will even work for me.

I'm glad it's helping with those troubled spots. Strange about the repetition problem, though.
Right now I'm trying out one of the filter's modes to restore a bad NTSC to PAL conversion. It's going to take about 5-6 days to process 5 minutes of video. Like the documentation stresses, "It's quality vs speed".
OK the friggin lossless IVTC'd and cropped ready to go avi is FINALLY finished,all 6 of the shit frames are gone!
just as soon as I get the subtitle placement ready I will upload a sample for you guys to gander at.
also on a side note,I was looking at the interlace patterns on side 1 of Star Wars 97' Special Edition and it is NO WHERE near as bad as this one,because if you have been following me,the 97' SE "Take 2" Trilogy is next.

Still fighting these damn VDub warnings,and I was told they CAN'T be ignored,it has to be figured out and corrected before I can make the lossless avi for the DVD.
Might have finally figured out the source of the problem,now to either figure out a workaround,or approach things differently.

The digital tracks on the laserdiscs i'm sure were a revelation in the late eighties when these suckers first came out.
Still a very nice set. I only hate the subtitles and wish i could remove them.
Though i have the same problem with my episode 1 laserdisc.
I wish the subs were a selective thing encoded on the laserdisc and not burned in.
Some were like that they had Laserdisc closed captioning or subtitles but you needed a seperate decoder unlike dvd. You could not just decode them with the chip in your television set like you could cc broadcasts or vhs tapes.
The japanese also had something on their laserdiscs called LD-G.

Does the script remove these frames or does it actually restore them?
Could you also tell what the other 5 are? I guess I missed some of them...

Watched the clip. It looks so alive compared to the gout. More colors, more old school I think. Great quality on the cloose-ups but not much detail in the last scene of the movie. Overall, great vibe watching this
Just watched the sample - it looks pretty impressive. Really takes me back to watching the pre-DC VHS tapes when I was a kid - despite the fact that there's obviously less detail than the GOUT/DC transfer, it's much brighter and (as budwhite said) more "alive." And no horrendous DVNR smearing!

That looks great. I did notice some edge enhancement artefacts though.. it's visible in several scenes, for example see the back of Darth's.. erm... dress. Here, next to the white line I drew. It's visible as a halo wherever you have two different colours with a high contrast between them:
I was wondering if this was a feature of the source, or of post-capture filtering. Either way, I'd take some EE over DVNR smearing any day!
Yes i agree on the DVNR issue, some scenes in my DC are pretty bad.. one time in the ice base when the general turns around and they cut to outside is just a blue / grey mess.

After looking at all these frames and stuff with this Laserdisc set I have come to this conclusion,this set really sux,you can see some weird smear marks between some scenes like where they glued it together,and the frame like I showed above,among other stuff I have seen,but WE will make it the best we can.
