I'm working on the space garbage scene where slave 1 follows the falcon. It fixes the problem of why didn't the Falcon detect Slave 1 following it so close. It's a nightmare the amount of rotoscoping i'm having to do to matte the garbage alone. And i've been able to keep in the added SE shot of Slave 1, so things are going well
Cool! That really is a weird shot isn't it. I never understood why the Falcon didn't detect Slave 1. I did think the Falcon couldn't differentiate Slave 1 from the garbage pieces, but it still doesn't look convincing. That SE shot is really rather nice, I think, glad you're keeping it.
I meant to ask, are you making any changes that people might consider more controversial than others? I suppose the ion cannon might be one, beloved as it is, but your redo of that is excellent.

Well that's two potential changes we now know of already. We'll follow this ones progress with great interest....
Great to hear that you're currently getting along nicely with your latest opus. I'm glad you managed to keep that particular SE addition too, as it's a good 'un.

For me, this beloved scene is about a few things: the music around that scene, the sound effects and the cool kickback. All three of those are present, so I'm happy about it. ;) And the ships warping out at the end is the proverbial icing on the proverbial cake!
I agree, everything that makes that scene is still there with pickles.
I'm getting more noodle brained in my old age because it confused the hell out of me when I started reading ESB:R stuff here ( I thought I had clicked on the wrong thread for a several micro- seconds).
Are you the same guys who keep hiding the tea-spoons in the fork drawer?
You just need to brush up on your Roman numerals, I suspect.
Who puts Roman numerals on a fork drawer?
Romans!

Something I just noticed in Adywan's list of corrections...

Is this a typo?

I'm taking it that the window Ady is referring to is the one that could be directly behind Vader, as opposed to the ones above him. In the regular TIE fighers, the pilot area is just a pod, with the engines on either side. With Vader's TIE, the pod has a tube with wings connected behind it (which means that any portal directly behind him, be it a door or a window would be blocked). The windows in top (the 4 long rectangular windows) are indeed present on both versions of TIE fighters.

Ady the comparison images on page 1 look scrambled and messy. I think there is some kind of error that might have occurred. I was showing my sis and she couldn't see the beauty of what you had done
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Whoa, that reminds me of when my Atari 2600 used to malfunction when the connectors were dirty.
I see it too...except that it reminds my of my atari system and the ESB video game that I used to play.
I see it as well, I'm glad I read your posts because I also thought my laptop was playing up.

Needle thingy. Remove. A needle is scarier as is.
Yeah, replace it with a walkie-talkie.
*rolls eyes*

No. You dont get it. A needle doesn't need make up.
No, really, I got it. The walkie-talkie thing is an ET Special Edition joke.
My 2p suggestion if the ANH:R v2 does go ahead - the only thing which bothers me when I watch ANH:R is the music transition after Ben is struck down by Vader, where Luke shouts"No!". It just needs a slight re-edit to make the two pieces of music fit together better. I have no problem with the choice of music (I love the prequel music in the duel, it works great) it's just that transition being a little sloppy which bothers me.
I guess I'll throw my two cents worth out there....please ditch the star trek "praxis" ring. please.
I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.
