Sadly I think it might be dead. Haven't heard from Jambe in a while and it's been quite a while in the making.

Doc, as much as I love that Boba Fett picture it is a bit distracting seeing it pop up all the time, it would make a nice avatar but it might need taking down in size a bit if it's going to be a signature.
I'm sure Jambe's working hard on things, his projects are a lot of hard work and like the best things in the world they are worth the wait.
Yeah, I'm not worried about it either. These projects are far more time consuming than many other types of edits. He'll let us know what's what when the time is right.

Haha, sorry about the sig. I took it off and will find something else to use.
As for Jambe and the project, I truly hope you guys are right at the first two are simply brilliant.
Count me as another who has been eagerly awaiting the completion of this project. Jambe's work on Building Empire and Returning to Jedi was simply brilliant and from the clips I've seen on YouTube this would be the icing on the cake.
I still haven't watched the clips on YouTube because I figured I would just watch it when the DVD was ready, but maybe I will now. I got a hankerin'! :p
Jambe, are you alive man ?
Maybe he could be reached through his blog, too?
Ok, this is slightly off topic, but relevant to Jambe's documentaries, but I've gotten back in contact with an old friend whose uncle was one of the 2nd unit directors for The Empire Strikes Back. I guess, in a more direct question to Jambe - if and when he manages to get back on the board - would you be interested in interviewing him for a future edition of Building Empire, or is that now a closed book?
Sorry for getting off topic!! Back to the usual programming....
^Wow, that would be nice! That could be put on any of the docs as a special bonus, really. A sort of general 'what it's like to film a Star Wars movie' thing, even.
Oh, and I sent a message to Jambe at YouTube. Hope he sees it. He hasn't logged in there for two months, I noticed. Hope he's well!
Hi All,
Sorry for the 'radio silence'! Got lots of sh*t going on at the moment. Life changing stuff. Needless to say, the hobby has taken a bit of a back seat of late.
SWB, in it's current form, is still sitting on my G5's HDs. If I get the time and motivation I will be in touch.
Thanks for your continued support, concern and suggestions. You guys are great.

The project is by no means "dead".

Great to hear from you. Hopefully that 'life changing stuff' is more good than bad.
If we can help the project out in any way, let us know. Probably all I could provide are some really old comic book ads for Star Wars merchandise and such. Fun stuff.
Be well JD. We can be patient.
I would love to get hold of some ADigitalMan Extended Editions if anyone can help out. Monty Python's Life Of Brian, Love Actually Bloated and Flatulent. Ta!
Thanks Guys.

An Update
It's been a long while folks. Unfortunately I separated from my wife last year and things have been a bit tough. But, I've got a new place for me and my kids (I have them three to four days a week) and soon I hope to have my G5 Mac set up and ready to start editing Star Wars Begins again. I will report back with some more news soon. Oh by the way, I might be getting a preview copy of R.W Rinzler's Making of Empire Strikes Back to review. Anybody want me to review it for their site?
And by the way, the interview didn't work out for The People Vs George Lucas. I just couldn't get it done in time. Shame.

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about the personal issues, but good to hear you're sounding upbeat again. (I hope so, anyway)
That's great that you're getting a preview copy of the next book. I still haven't read the first one, though I really want to. I just can't find a copy of it I can afford. :p The starting prices on eBay are kinda rich for my blood and the shipping can be a killer, too. Can I borrow your copy if you have it? Haha.
Glad to hear you're still working on this! I haven't had a chance to watch Returning to Jedi yet, but I loved Building Empire. While I thought OCP's Deleted Magic was ok, I always hoped for a JD doc instead.
One thing I didn't like about Deleted Magic was that he put SOOOO many deleted scenes from the entire trilogy before the movie even started! Kinda like a massive amount of spoilers. Sure, I'd seen many of them before, but still, it's way too big a teaser. :p
Agreed. And I thought the screen test footage, although cool, went on for waaaaaay too long.
But let's not turn this into a DM bash thread ;-)
Also agreed. ;) Quick comments, let's move on.
I anticipate sending out many copies of Star Wars Begins to fellow fans/friends. I can't count how mnay times I've copied BE and RTJ for people. I consider both must-haves.
I am in the middle of editing an interview (or taking out the worst bits) for The People Vs George Lucas. It will be submitted very late but there is still a chance that I will make the final international edit.
Anyway, just a quick on to say that my interest has increased again. Maybe I will get round to finishing SWB.

Great to hear some news on this. :)
When is "The People..." scheduled to be released? How many people from OT.com and FE.org are there on it, roughly, if you know?
I wouldn't worry about who's in it, until the final cut is seen. But from recent interviews, sounds like the project overall is gaining a lot of momentum.

PG.4 "You know, it’s just one of those situations where we’ve been invited by a number of festivals. Unfortunately its tricky for us because we have to limit ourselves to a certain amount of festivals prior to sales and distribution, as we want this to be a theatrically viable film."
Talk of a theatrical release is new to me. Would make sense to try to get the theatrical run sometime this year to coincide with ESB anniversary. Maybe fall, then the DVD in winter. but that's being highly optimistic. Probably end up being a several year process...
As for how many people from OT.com in it, let's say 6-8. complete speculation, not a clue. keep hearing names of people who interviewed or sent in something but what ends up in the final cut is anyone's guess. Recent promotions/interviews do point that PvsG will hinge partly on the OT proper release debate. So that gives creadance to several members making the final cut.
Well it's getting shown at SxSW next weekend. I wish I could be there but I am in the middle east working.
I have no idea if any OT.com people have any involvement. However, I know that OT.com is mentioned and that my films are "briefly mentioned". Exciting stuff.
