Plus it gives the best ending in all of comic book film history, really showing the true nature of Batman.
I felt the ending to TDK was silly and contrived. Me and my friend were laughing in the theater when we saw the ending, and I am pretty sure that is not the reacting the film makers hoped to evoke. The friend I went to see it with is a huge fan of the Batman comics too. He thought Batman Begins was by far the better film. I tend to agree with him, I can't say I really cared for The Dark Knight all that much. I think the insane over hype really brought it down a bit for me.
I think the reason alot of people will say things like TDK didn't feel like a Batman movie, is because they were introduced to Batman via the first Burton film, which was extremely unBatman like, and that set their standard.
