Oh I agree to that. With just simple editing, Ady took the Obi-Wan/Vader duel and really amped it up. And the Battle of Yavin is visually 10 times better than what was first seen. However, I'm consider all versions of Star Wars ANH to be "definitive." Not just ANH:R.
After all, if not for the first Star Wars release in 1977, we most likely wouldn't even have this website.
