Television. Back then the music channels actually played music videos. You'd turn on MTV and it would be video after video (there was some other programming too, but lots of videos).

Today, I am not even sure why music videos are still made. Seriously? Where are they aired so that they can bring back profit? I wouldn't even know where to go to see a video today if it wasn't for youtube.

They are made for sites like Youtube. They get money back in advertising.
