And now that I'm done kissing ass, what's the latest on the theatrical DVD? :)

I'm struggling transferring my NTSC laserdisc of TPM. I need this only as a guide layer so i can match up the HD edit with the theatrical version but my bloody DVD recorder remote is being an ass and i can't access the settings menu to change the input from PAL to NTSC. I even tried copying my PAL VHS and the damn macrovision prevents me from doing this. I know someone did a laserdisc transfer of TPM a long time back but i can't find a copy anywhere

Have you searched the internet for a firmware for your DVD recorder? Some players have had hacked firmware which bypasses macrovision. I've used them before, and never had a problem.

YOu find the firmware file on the net (type your model number and then "firmware"), burn the file to a CD and let it work.

Come to think of it... I have a NTSC VHS copy of TPM. I'll see if I can rip it... and send it to you. If I do though, I'm going to have to HIGHLY compress it. I don't have the patience to wait for a huge file to upload. You can use it as a reference however, but not for restoring missing shots.
