from the nfo for his ROTJ blu-ray
To re-edit, mix and adjust video/audio, re-encoding is required. When this happens if you re-encode at anything like or less than the original bitrate you lose quality. Since my releases are meant to be enjoyed by the big boys with REAL home theater systems I encode at the highest possible bitrate to guarantee the best quality- without question. It would be embarrassing to share all this work and then shit on it by encoding it to a DVD9.
As i am the only person to have done any work like colour correction on the saga for AVCHD releases i take it that its pointed towards me. Whats with all the sudden hostility?
Well he seems to be hostile to everyone.
I would think it would be just as embarassing to uselessly enflate a 16 GB transfer to a 50 GB file when a nice 17 GB would have done fine. And considering his color correction on his broadcasts are... iffy. Where as yours kick ass. I took your color corrected Empire AVCHD and made it into a DVD (I have no blu ray or hi def equipment) and it looks great. I even took the dvd to a friends and upscaled it back to 1080 P on his big screen and it STILL looked great.
And now that I'm done kissing ass, what's the latest on the theatrical DVD? :)
