/\ Adywan, could you tell me how you fixed this shot? Did you isolate the speeder and slow it down with after effects or did you slow down the frame rate and keep the sand people the same? /\

/\ I didnt know about the Krayt dragon call, so they removed it for the SEs? How did you know it was even called a Krayt dragon call? /\

/\ Nice to see you're not only proficient with visuals but with audio as well. It sounds like you added a cue where it was originally silent for a fraction of a second before switching cues. /\

adywan said:Ok heres the correct fix (only slightly different way of going round it). ONLY NEEDED FOR THE TORRENT DOWLOAD:

first make sure you have added the NTSC fix files from the DVD-ROM folder into your VIDEO_TS folder then download this file:
EXTRA PAR2 FILE
once downloaded unpack the rar file and put the file it contains into the VIDEO_TS folder .

now right click on the par2 file in the VIDEO_TS folder and select "open with.." and select "quickpar" (you may have to browse if it isn't in the list". let it scan all the files and say "ready to repair using...." . Click on "Repair" and sit back. the repair will take a while depending on your setup. Once its has finished repairing then close the program and make sure you take any par2 files out of the VIDEO_TS folder but DON'T put them in your DVD folder. place them elsewhere on your PC. Also make sure you delete any files that have a .1 extension in the VIDEO_TS folder too.

Now you need Pcgedit. install pcgedit if you haven't already got it. open it and select "file> open DVD" and select the VIDEO_TS folder that you have added the fix to. now pgcedit will start scanning the disc and a new box pops up. don't do anything until you see the "close" button that will appear when the scan is done.
Once this is done goto "file>BURN DVD/ CREATE ISO" and select that. A new box will pop up saying "DVD saved ok". Click ok.
Now in the next box that appears make sure DL media type is selected as "Double layer DVD+R". Goto "output ISO" and select where you want the ISO file to be stored ready for burning later. Just name the "volume label" star wars 4" or anything you want.
once you have done this click "ok"
Another small box will pop up telling you there are other folder and if you want to burn them. Just click "yes"
Next another box will appear. This is the layer break box. In the top section of the box "cell 28" should be highlighted blue. If one of the others is highlighted just click on the line containing "cell 28" then click "OK"

Your new ISO will be created

You can then burn the ISO image file with Imgburn (best one to use for windows users and it is included in the DVD-ROM folder. Not sure if there is a mac version or the version in the folder works an MAC) or nero or similar

if you use imgburn make sure that when the layer break box pops up when you go to burn the disc you highlight the layer break and make sure that "don't update IFO's" (it says something like that but can't remember) box is ticked and burn

ALL should be fine now and i updated the last fix post in case it caused any confusion. If you get any errors while creating the ISO with pgcedit then you ahve done something wrong in the first steps.

Damn, I've been looking for this info for quite a while now. I'm such an idiot, I should have realised that I could search for key-words in the search tab, lol. Thanks a lot for this Ady. I'm currently burning the disc (14% so far) on imgburn with my DL DVD+R Disc. Hopefully it should come out fine in about 40 mins (at a 2.4x speed btw, like you said in that PM to me) :)

Then I'm gonna have a Star Wars OT Marathon with some friends this weekend, which will be slightly different to the one we had with the xvid version standing in for a proper DVD.

Edit - WOW! Great stuff Ady. I love all the DVD Menus, the only gripe I have is that I can't quickly chapter skip from the opening menu to the main menu, and do the same with all the other menus. But that doesn't really matter, the whole presentation is top-notch. Best of all is that I tested this on my Sony DVD Theatre System and when I stopped the film there was a sweet background (The 1977 Star Wars poster). Awesome touch there :)

Now I have a perfect DVD to take to my friends' so we can have a proper OT marathon. Thanks for all your hard work Ady.

Only recently discovered all these fan edit efforts and was intrigued, so gave myself a crash course in newsgroups and servers and par2 files and so on and was able to watch this version of SW last night. Only took two days of research and download time, and it was well worth the effort. Very enjoyable to see "Star Wars" again without knowing exactly what's coming up next.

One strange thing though; I downloaded and extracted all the rar files using Unison and then opened the image file to view the vobs, played them with VLC, all fine, except that the audio tracks on the file VTS_52_6.VOB are switched (iso music on 1, movie on 2). Not a huge problem, just stopped and selected track 2 at that point in the film, then back again later. But I'm wondering if this could be rectified easily before I burn it to disc? I would ordinarily have been straight at it with Vegas, but have just switched to a Mac and am starting again in so many ways! Coupled with the fact that a couple of days ago I couldn't even spell nzb, I can't help feeling I might be missing something obvious. Thanks in advance for any ideas on this.

EDIT: Re-extracted this earlier and it now plays straight through no problem. I'll never understand computers.

Hey guys, newbie hear. I hate to be a royal pain in the backside but can someone direct me to a torrent or download link to where I can download this amazing re-edit of A New Hope? Preferably in Xvid format, but it doesn't matter as long as I see it and love it. ^^

Ady, I read (again) that Vader's voice was enhanced from the GOUT to the DVD release to make it sound more like the rest of the saga, and I remember you saying that you further enhanced it.  Any chance of you (or anyone) throwing together a "side-by-side" audio comparison?

Which sounds the same?  GOUT/DVD or DVD/REVISIT?

Dvd and Revisited! Gout sounds like he is talking via radio. A big up to Dvds to make Vads voice more deep :)

I always remembered that in the original, Vader's voice sounded kind of tinny, but the Official DVD and Ady's sound better and have more bass. It sounds like Ady's added a subwoofer to it like he did with the lighsabers.

Edit - Oh wait, Vaderois has already said something about a subwoofer being added :)

Ah good one ady. Any change to have a more unify vader's voice along the trilogy?

Vader's voice hasn't had a subwoofer channel added. I added an extra layer with a robotic type filter and gave it a 1 frame delay and also lowered the pitch very slightly. this extra layer mixed with the original gave Vaders voice a very subtle difference to match it closer to the ESB voice.

You're a genius dude :)

Adywan, why would you give Vader's voice one frame delay?
