I can't find my copy, so I'm downloading it now so I can see whether any of the tracks fit in with the prequel edits.
Thanks for the comment on my video ripplin :)

Ripplin said:Yes, sorry CA, but it was a soundtrack for the book, which is what made it so weird. (felt like a bit of a cash grab, honestly) I remember it well, and I still have my copy. That CD has nothing to do with the game other than the name.
Soundtracks to non-existant movies reminds me of a mix tape I made when I was 12. I called it "Kung Fu: The Movie Soundtrack" and it had all songs related to fighting.
Really? It's a soundtrack for a book? That's fucking stupid.
Yes it is stupid.
I've never heard it. Does anyone think it sounds sufficiantly John Wlilliams-ish to be used convincingly in an edit?
brash_stryker said:I've started on my own Attack Of The Clones edit. I'm still getting the hang of coordinating my visual cuts with the background music. I've split the ac3 into 6 wav files as per adigitalman's editing guide. I'm just wondering, how do the other editers here get around the problem of the voice channel also having music in it (which after cuts doesn't always sync up with the audio in the other channels).
I think I'm going to redo the music in the other 5 channels anyway. I'm just wondering if anyone knows off the top of their heads the best way to minimize the music in the voice track (I'm assuming it's impossible to remove it entirely)
Edit: Sorry. Just realised I should have posted this in the how to section, and also have just found Bingowings' thread asking exactly this.
I've had a limited amount of success by taking a word by word appoach but boy is it hard work (and time consuming).
The only way I can imagine doing it would be to start an order of Star Wars nerd audio monks who sit in their cells isolating each and every word uttered and stripping as much off the sides.
Does anyone remember when BT got Tom Baker to record almost every word (with multiple inflections) for their voice message system and you could get Tom Baker to say almost anything you wanted to?
If someone from Lucascorps is reading this I'm sure money could be made by doing something like this if it could be cleared through the actor's agents.
Naboo, Ep 2. I dont understand why all the movie is a big blury thing...
Anyways. i d like to show the alternative view of the hangars from ROTS that shows the palace rather a random place of naboo.
Also better mood and hell better matte!Credit to ILM. We dont have to show the ship landed anyways.
When the ships of SW needed airways to take off?

Those look good Vaderios. I wish I could do what you do in PS, in After effects.
^I used to have a MASSIVE version of that top right pic. So big you could see every ship down there in detail. Might still be around the 'net somewhere.
I used that massive version of that top right pic :)
also i m wondering who is closest to Villa Del Balbianello. Its the location that all the padme's house taken.
Some shots on the movie is so fake and poor.
-Angel
One thing I find really urksome for some reason is Padme refering to children as "kids", it's a minor niggle I know but while I have no problem with Han saying it, it seems really off when she does.
Wait why do they have runways?
OzoneSherrif said:Wait why do they have runways?
spacefillers?

Those runways are mostly used when a ship is broken in half, on fire, and needs to do an emergency crash landing.

ChainsawAsh said:@Ripplin - I'm fairly certain that the music was done for the video game and not the book, so it's not *that* weird - there are a lot of video game soundtracks out there.
@Darthmunky - he's not talking about audio books, it's the score for the video game.
Only 2 songs from the books soundtrack are on the PC and N64 game. So it was made for the book. The rest of the songs from the game are The Empire and A New Hope soundtracks. So the game only gives a small taste of what is in the books soundtrack
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

It sounds like the empire strikes back as far as feel. It even uses several motifs from the empire strikes back seeing as it is the story prior to jabba the hutt han rescue. The Battle of Gall would work well in AOTC OR ROTS.

Don't ya just hate the new cgi yoda and the TPM menace puppet yoda. I have an idea. Cant we do a new model and skin it with Empire Strikes Back yoda or a really good yoda puppet. It shouldnt be too hard.
Then use the yoda that we all love
I mean come on that thing in the PT looks like shit. Nothing like classic yoda. It can be done. We just need the proper tools
I wish I had this guys puppet LOL

A quick question that ive noticed when ady posted a comparison pic of the pink- depink TMP.
I this shot we see Qui glon lighted from behind with a strong light-sunlight. But the BG have strong lights but it looks very toned down.
My question is if that is correct and what looks best.
-Angel
I am correct in saying I remember the theatrical version looking much better than the home video version

Here's another video from my fan edit. The only problem is my cuts have made it a bit short.
ChainsawAsh said:Really? It's a soundtrack for a book? That's fucking stupid.
Is it really? Cause I have the soundtrack to Shadows of the Empire, and I think the music is great.
That's fine if the music is great, I just think the idea of a soundtrack for a book is a rather stupid idea, regardless of the quality of the music.
Well, the whole point with the Shadows project, along with the Special Edition the next year, was as a testbed for the prequels. For Shadows, they did everything they'd do with a movie — video game, comics, novel, soundtrack, action figures — without shooting the movie. Call it a cynical money-making exercise if you will, and I won't disagree with you, but that was the general idea. It was also intended to reignite interest in the Star Wars brand, ahead of the SEs and prequels.
Well I've had a listen to the Shadows soundtrack, and it just doesn't feel sufficiently like John Williams to me to appear in a star wars edit.

Well some of the PT tracks doesnt feel sufficiently like JW's music. Is like more ambient space filler music without that melodic charm of OT and i refering for the ESB score that im founding the BEST and next TMP's. all the rest are copy pastes.
-Angel
ESB was my favourite, probably followed by ROTS, but annoyingly ROTS doesnt sound like a STAR WARS film to me, just a good score.
does anyone know anything about the JW/GL relationship? he would have been writing music for Harry Potter I-III at a similar time to the prequels, yet the Harry Potter scores seem alot more proficient (especially III), so i wonder if he just provided lucasfilm with something just to get a huge sum of money for? AOTC had some nice pieces, but nothing to bind it together.
TPM was great, especially the themes associated with anakin, which surprisingly didnt make it that far into the other prequels. i have no idea how to compose music, but would anyone know how to do a subversion of the Imperial March, so it sounded like a theme for the good guys? So when we hear the Imperial March later on in the saga, it sounds like an evil version of the good guy theme?
