Han's hand does look much better with the deband filter.  Assuming you didn't make any other changes since your previous screenshots of it, I'd say that filter is doing its job.

Ditto to what vbangle said.  My computer isn't up-to-snuff and really can't do the job, but it's always nice to see other's work - and even better if said person plans on sharing it.

OK ESB is done rendering, the lossless avi 31.2 GB's,and yes it is 3 DVD9's ranging from 7.03 to 7.54 GB's,I will encode ESB tonight, then mux it all together on Monday.

and I have no alternate sound for these, these all have exactly what is on the retail DVD,I would liked to add a different track but have none.

Didn't you grab hairy_hen's uploads of the PCM laserdisc tracks? They're the same mixes as the standard GOUT tracks, but a high-bitrate (384 or 448) compression of these sounds a fair bit better...

I have the monomix (wave file) and the pre THX (AC3 file) mix that Moth3r used for his Pwnage Edition. PM me if there is an interest.

fft3dfilter is awesome.  I probably couldn't live without it.  Still comparisons of before and after show it really does its thing for removing noise.

What I don't understand about it is that in motion it makes it look like the camera lens is dirty.  Besides softening the picture, you get a soft pattern that looks a bit like film grain but doesn't change pattern from frame to frame.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

It is a handy filter, but I have noticed the artifact that you mention. I had this problem with many of the earlier scripts. The trick is to not do too much FFT filtering, which is why the script uses the FFT filter only to determine the motion vectors, and then as a median between the mo-comped and original pixels. One way to look at this is, it only uses the fft filter if the fft is inbetween the mo-comped pixel and the original pixel.

I think the reason there is this left-over haze of noise that persists frame to frame if you're not careful is because of the MPEG compression of the original DVD. The compression tries to resist change, hence it takes an otherwise random noise and only changes as little of it as possible to make it still look like random noise. Then when you apply the filter, the noise left over is just the persistant noise that the original DVD compression decided to make less random.

OK I need to know what is everyone's thoughts on the audio?

I will say this,if I upgrade the audio for ANH,then there has to be upgrades for the other 2 as well.

I would like to add the 5.1 audio I just got from satanika if it does not go over in size,as a bonus audio option.

and this Belbecous audio file everyone keeps talking about,is there versions for ALL 3 movies?

So please give me your thoughts on this issue.

I was just originally going to do the video and leave EVERYTHING else on the retail DVD untouched.

What do you think of the idea of just replacing the audio with a superior one? Whether it be the Satanika or Belbecous... after all the video has been replaced right? If you only just replace the orginal audio then you could keep the menus the same and "retail" looking....

I say if you can then please do include alternative audio. =)

Belbucus did GOUT-synced PCM tracks from the '93 DC LDs (lol that's a lot of acronyms).

They were what hairy_hen used as a base for his versions, he just made a couple of small edits.

I guess I could put them in a.b.sw also if needed.

if you could please, thorw them up to.

Thank you very

Thanks just about have them now,so what would you set these at in Soft Encode?

I assume 448 DD 2.0 Surround, but what would you set for the DialNorm?

One thing you will have to watch out for is the combined video and audio bitrate - I tried for months to combine an anamorphic GOUT I made (not cleaned up at all, just anamorphic) with the uncompressed mono WAV, and I kept getting errors until I finally realized that the maximum bitrate was too high.  I don't think you'll run into this problem with 448 AC3, but it may still happen, depending on how high your video bitrate is.

I have already been messin with this some and it is looking more and more like I will not be able to add any alternate tracks, not with trying to keep it "Retail" which is kind of what I am shooting for, there is just no room left, they range from 7.21 GB's to 7.73 GB's.

but I made a test DVD of the video with satanika's DD 5.1 track to watch later on.

still tossing around the idea of swapping the "Retail" audio for an upgraded one though,I don't see any problems with that,so is the Belbecous PCM's that much better than what is on the GOUT DVD's already? and I mean a signifiacnt difference, not just a tiny minor one.

the video bitrate is 6500 average.

I have a feeling Belbucus already put them at the right volume, so 31 I believe. But I'm not too knowledgeable in the area.

Total bitrate for the DVD format including video, audio and subs can be max 10.08 Mbps (10080 kbps) according to http://www.videohelp.com/dvd.

That's the rumor right? I thought that was the general idea that the PCM was a much richer better sounding mix. IMO.
