"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Based on Blade Runner Colors i made some tests for some bar shots.
Also I fix the damn damn DAMN floating Anakid in jedi temple and make the colors based on ROTS to remove the cartoon like.
Edit: Some more shit.
More contrast to the factory scene.( crashed whites is usual to OT). The tones and shadows toned down to reduce the damn fake look of Jango Sinatra and Decepticon Droidekas.
-Angel is a Decepticon!
It looks bootyful angel. Good work.

I know the perfect person that have an awesome knowledge for soundtracks... He is more knowledgeable even from master yoda! :)
No really, with some sounds from doom 3 game and some very good music in some certain parts the geonosis can become from orange playground a death trap of doom :)

Here's a thought for some Prequel improvement, a brand new score half made up of music from the OT, a quarter the themes currently there, and a quarter new music.

Tests already made from SWWR1 and Davnes007 :) Check them out, very Interesting!

I just found some interesting artwork from Ryan Church ( Concept artist for Eps 2 and 3)
I ve noticed something interesting. His first concepts of some spots or locations had that Star wars feeling. Not very busy minimalistic and with a retro palette.
Its good start to brainstorm, how similar or unused designs, can bring PT to OT feel. When the planets have that unknown mood and locations were simple, memorable and powerful!
Some examples that cause my attetion.
Utapau's landed battleship. ( note the sun, the pale colors and the shadows and no fancy lights)
The 10th level of utapau (note the minimalism the pale colors the retro background details and the mood)
The bridge of Invisible hand( Same design with the above different approach. Note duo tone, sub lighted no much controls and panels.)
Mustafar Separatists room( note the one color theme, the claustrophobic feeling without the window/revealing all way, scale)
Big Credit to Ryan Church and his Superb work!

those paintings are amazing, its like george lucas purposely wanted a bad film

Hey Vaderios,
Have you ever thought about putting a tutorial (even a basic one) as to how to do photo manipulation like what you do with the images above? I've tried color correcting and altering, be it the entire picture or parts of it and just came out with a mess or I couldn't get certain colors. Maybe a tutorial already exists out there... if so, a link would be good if someone here has one...

This is great stuff...this DOES have the OT feeling (not as much in the last pic)...
Angel, you should tackle some pics from the PT and see if you can simpilfy some of the crazy backgrounds, etc...just like the above pics!
Attack of the Clones: Alternate Timeline Edit Thread:
https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/SSWRs-Attack-of-the-Clones-Alternate-Timeline-Edit/id/66888
I've started on my own Attack Of The Clones edit. I'm still getting the hang of coordinating my visual cuts with the background music. I've split the ac3 into 6 wav files as per adigitalman's editing guide. I'm just wondering, how do the other editers here get around the problem of the voice channel also having music in it (which after cuts doesn't always sync up with the audio in the other channels).
I think I'm going to redo the music in the other 5 channels anyway. I'm just wondering if anyone knows off the top of their heads the best way to minimize the music in the voice track (I'm assuming it's impossible to remove it entirely)
Edit: Sorry. Just realised I should have posted this in the how to section, and also have just found Bingowings' thread asking exactly this.
On the topic of sound mixes, what are peoples thoughts about using the Shadows of the Empire soundtrack? I remember the first time I heard it, and I had images of a utopian past for the OT, including temples and Jedi, and all sorts of things that you can see shadows of in the OT.
I think it would probably integrate well, what do you think?
^Yes, it has been mentioned by some and I'm surprised no one seems to be using it. There could be some excellent "replacement" material there.
Oooh! I actually have that somewhere. I'll have to dig it out. :D
As far as I remember (from playing the N64 version), most of the music in the game is taken from the movies, anyway.
Or am I totally missing something?

The Shadows of the Empire soundtrack was a soundtrack created for the book (on which the game is based).
Well I've been working on my edit all night, and thought I'd post this rather amusing scene:
^That's pretty funny! I bet he hated having to go rescue Leia, huh? 'A woman in trouble. Typical.' ;)
And Davnes, this is the CD from Shadows of the Empire:
Possibly the first, and last, time a soundtrack CD was made for a book. An hour to listen to, a week to read? Better loop it. Haha.
Seriously, had anything like that been done before? It's still kinda weird.
Not that weird for people who hate reading. I'd rather listen to someone read it to me on a CD than read it myself. too much work.
@Ripplin - I'm fairly certain that the music was done for the video game and not the book, so it's not *that* weird - there are a lot of video game soundtracks out there.
@Darthmunky - he's not talking about audio books, it's the score for the video game.

You might be mistaken. This CD is NOT the OST of the video game. It is rather a soundtrack to the Shadows of the Empire story (also known as "the movie that never really was a movie"). So you could say that this CD by Joel McNeely is really a soundtrack to the book, as well as the comics and junior novelization.
I am working on a Shadows of the Empire project. I might post some interesting info soon.
Yes, sorry CA, but it was a soundtrack for the book, which is what made it so weird. (felt like a bit of a cash grab, honestly) I remember it well, and I still have my copy. That CD has nothing to do with the game other than the name.
