Do I sense a Rocky-style training montage in the works?

Lol, that's what I was thinking of when I read HigHurtenflurst

Complete with the music.....haha :)

I suppose it's not what he meant, but thinking about a Rocky style montage right in the middle of TESB is a hilarious notion. I might make a parody of sorts and post it on my YouTube page.

My bad... more like Rocky right?

Yeah right in the middle of Star wars... awesome :P

Damn! Someone's already made one! Lol. :D

Nice, very nice :)

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to make my own edit, but I don't think I could do better than this.

One thing that's always seemed not quite right to me during the Bespin escape is right after the Slave I takes off.  C3PO says "Chewie, they're behind you!"  and you can see Lando in the background chilling out and stretching or something, then suddenly laser blasts fire, completely missing these stationary targets and then they all jump out of the way and start running again.  It makes the stormtroopers seem even more incompetent.

I know there's this "nobody ever listens to C3PO" thing going on throughout the film, but it might make more sense to delay his line delivery slightly if possible, so that it looks like he warns them and they start moving again just in time to avoid the blasts, rather than have them snap out of it and take off after a few rounds completely miss them when nobody's even moving.

I've always wondered how Yoda taught Luke his lightsaber skills, and wondered if it would be possible (or desireable) to add a little scene, just a couple of seconds worth in a sort of training "montage" of sorts, of Yoda and Luke sparring with sabers.  Perhaps some grabs of footage from the prequels of Yoda fighting, combined with some footage from ESB of Luke fighting, super-imposed on a suitable Degobah background.

No. This is completely unnecessary. Besides, it would not fit into the film at all.

This bothered me before too, but after looking at it again, I don't think Lando's body movements from shot-to-shot are too inconsistent at all. They don't really break continuity in an outrageous way or anything.

But the idea of delaying 3PO's line does seem like it could work.

kk.....

Just a bit of a soap box...

...I am sick of people having complaints and challenging Adywan on stuff. I'll admit, when I first read the revisited post on ANH, I thought....yeah...right. This will suck.

BUT...Ady has proven himself time and again. The constant bickering back and forth on crap like the color of TIE fighters or the laser cores just take time from Ady finishing the project and getting it to us. ANH:R is nearly perfection...and was his first effort. I can't imagine anything being wrong with future versions.

Stop challenging the guy...geez. If you want something different, figure out how to do it yourself.

There's a difference between having confidence that Adywan can pull off something great and blindly agreeing with everything he does just because he's somehow acquired a religious following.

But I do agree that once Adywan has said "This is the way it is, I'm not changing my mind," we shouldn't keep beating a dead horse.  Like the Blue/Grey TIE Fighter Debate, or the Red AT-AT Window Debate, or constant arguing about Boba Fett's voice ...

And i think they will up more of him.

Points to 005 that record them :)

Is it just me, or did anyone else have the impression that this would make good fodder for another JERKY BOYS phone prank call?

And having the voice clips on buttons makes it even easier!

OMG! Click on 'What!' (which I'm sure you already have) - that's the funniest sounding thing to ever come out of Vader's mouth :D

And I must be correct in thinking it's from the end battle of ANH....

God damn I forgot how bad that "Noooooooo!" was ... yes, it's been that long since I've seen the theatrical version of ROTS.  4 years, to be exact.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I would image props / even maybe models of sets, are one thing. Stop-motion technology may seem like old hat technology now, but they were using in it filum from 33 till, ahem, more recently, as far as i can recall..(and it took a long while to get to Empire standards).

Morph did it though (nostalgia :-) )

Hang on, no he didnt!

The sabers do sound different from the rest of the saga, and not in a good way. They sound excessively "wheezy," if you know what I mean.

...er, yeah, ok, "montage" not quite the right word, obviously.... LOL.  Oh well.

But I've always thought it's a horribly glaring omission (puppet limitations) that we never got to see Luke learning any saber skills, other than blocking the shots of the remote for all of 60 seconds, which is about all Ben ever showed him.  Levitating rocks and running through the woods with Yoda on your back hardly seems like really inclusive training to me.  After all, Luke's entire purpose in life was to defeat the Sith, seems like combat training would be a fairly high priority, no?

Obviously Yoda must have taught him something, and just thought it might be neat to see on screen.

remember, he was on daghobah for four months according to the novel. i don't remember any light saber tricks, but who's to say yoda didn't teach him in that amount of time some skills?

The story said that they actually were going to film some of the saber action.
