Ok, quick tech question which pertains more to this discussion of the original PCM than our 5.1 talk elsewhere - with an old-school DPL surround track such as this, does the stream on the DVD (either PCM or encoded into AC3) need to be 'flagged' as DPL, or does the receiver just *know*?

I couldn't see a simple flagging option in any of the encoders I've looked at, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't needed in this sort of scenario...
