My personal favourite Star Wars ship, the Z-95 Headhunter. I think it would work well for the Naboo. Especially if given stripes for colour, and astromech droids. It's also a lot cheaper than the luxury N-1 Starfighters.
That actually looks more worn out than the OT millenium falcon. I am talking a very clean streamlined hot of the assembly line Falcon.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

You probably are. Or your monitor isn't calibrated.
OOoh now i see them, That must be a problem with the upload or even the source images. I dont have the PT on dvd only VHS so I couldnt use VLC to get stills.

And also, maybe a few shots of the Millenium Falcon wouldn't go astray. Perhaps have it somewhere in Episode II, being used by Clone Troopers.
I like the idea to add/replace the shiny noobians with some more retro ones.
BUT, i wouldnt put some allready known ships from the first movie. I mean dont put pre X wings just because it look more OT or just look cool, or match or whatever..
There are plenty of designs that never used and can be used to some PT space battles.
ROTS doesnt need any change at all.
MF has enough cameos to the films. no need to be protagonist again.
I think some V wings from Rogue squadron and some very very good designs from Star wars Starfighter. i was wondering why lucas never use them in the movies........

You can build it here out of card and make it as clean and pristine as you like :

I suggested adding pristine Rebel craft way back in the earliest pages but it would make more sense if they belonged to the Republic.
In my linear TPM scenerio they could turn up at the last minute once the Jedi get the communications jamming ship shut down.
I actually like the Naboo star fighters as they are (but I would have more of them and with different colours) as they represent a tiny planetary royal flight a bit like those held by small European nations before WWI (a bit like the ABRE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Battalion_of_the_Royal_Engineers).
You get the feeling that the Naboo fighters were really only had a ceremonial role (public displays and honour flights) but when the Federation invaded they had to step up to the mark.
Whoa. That looks... Complex.
Back on topic...
I see what you mean about the N-1. I like your thoughts about them being ceremonial, and small. But I still think that they could have a fleet of Z-95, or something else, to use in engagements, perhaps with pilots in N-1 leading the squadrons.
Also, I feel the ground battle needs a lot of work. Jar Jar needs to be cut down to a soldier, who seriously understands what he's fighting for, and what he is facing. I also feel that throughout, the battle droids need to have their dialogue redubbed, except when talking to non-droids, and their role changed slightly.
I've always liked this version of the X-Wing:
Not a lot different, but a little sleeker with that engine configuration, I think. Looks cool when it's closed, too.
EyeShotFirst said:It would have been clean and shiney in the PT era.
That's one of the things I hated about the PT. Everything was new and shiny, there was none of that awesome "used universe" feeling like in the OT.

nah! yellow? why it is a KOTOR game? Sentinel what? from matrix?
Quick Blue-jean must have green. Or I agree with Ash that all jedi must have blues and luke makes the damn difference :)

Yeah, but everything was the property of Queens, and Jedi, and Senators. No rag-tag rebellion or shady smugglers.
^Thats true!
A good idea is to put down all of our artisict skills and make some miracles that can be done with props or 3d.
Its a good start to OTize the PT with more radical ways :)

I second the Z-95 Headhunter. It's like a precursor to the Xwing, and would therefore tie things up very nicely :)
They can be really sleak and beautiful in TPM and then get worn and crappy looking as the movies continue on.

I like that idea. I also think that by the end of the Clone Wars there should be TIE Fighters, or something before TIE Fighters flying about for the Republic.
A real good idea I have is to imagine the ships that they are flying in the OT are just the innards of the PT era ships. Like take the xwing and add some sleak and shiney shell to it. It would be like the rebellion went to the junkyard for their ships for their fleet. It would be like a car without its metal shell. And you would just see frame and the motor.

Do you mean something akin to the Y-wing with its panels intact?
yeah and have an xwing with modifications. It would be fully believable that the rebels tweaked their ships and slapped paint on them. It would be all mad max style having them do that.

The imperial ship can just stay as is. They wouldnt need to scrap old ships. They have unlimited funding and POWERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if that'd work for the X-wing, it looks like it was designed that way, but I'd definitely like to see some panelled Y-wings in PT:R. Maybe even replace Obi's fighter in AOTC — I never liked that design, it was too derivative of the A-wing and it looks almost identical to the Star Destroyers we see later in the same movie (down to the silly rudder).

It was meant to be that way. But yeah, I agree.
I know it was, but I don't like that it was.

You just reminded me of Jeremy Clarkson there. :)
I could do mockup ships. I took a CAD in high school so I could do a blueprint. But I never got to actually model my CAD projects. But I would need a bunch of ideas. And hard critique. You can diss it if you want. Hell even some doodles I could render into a reasonable model.
