Yes I did. He is supposed to be in his fifties. My dad is about 54 and he doesn't look like that.

I don't understand the example.  It's Harrison's real hair color.  So what if your dad isn't grey yet?

I think his point is that Indy should only be 57 or 58 in the movie, but Ford was 64 or 65 during filming. So yes, it's Ford's real hair color, but it's his real hair color at 65, not 57. That having been said, the hair might be a tad too dark. But darkening it a bit probably wouldn't be a horrible idea.

Take care,
Ryan

Well that is just something I might do. I just put it up simply to say take it or leave it.

I think that making the hair darker isn't such a horrible idea, provided it's a bit more subtle and not quite that dark. His skin, however, looks far too blotchy and the whole things seems a tad dark.

Take care,

Well I didnt really work hard on it. As you can see on the original picture some of harisson's hair dye got on old indy's shirt. I would probably leave some gray in his hair. After all his hair wasn't that dark in last crusade actually he did have a little white in his whiskers.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I think that if his hair will be somewhat lighter than what EyeShotFirst showed us, that'd be fine, but I'm not sure it's entirely necessary for the film. After all, his face will stay looking old even if his hair is darker, and that would look unnatural, like Indy's wearing a wig.

Leave his hair color alone! For the record he's hot old or young. :)

Has it already been suggested to cut the fridge scene? I was watching the film the other night, and it seems like with some strategic cuts between the end of the rocket-sled ride and the scene with the federal agents, it could be made to appear that Indy just escaped to a military base, rather than a fake town.

Currently looking for the following preservations: V8 A Final Attempt by Arnie.D, Pre-ANH Bootleg Telecine, Starkiller '77 bootleg, LD OT by Cowclops, LD OT by Dr. Gonzo, LD OT by Farsight, LD OT by ISOMIX, LD OT by Dark/Sega Take 1, TPM Theatrical by Adywan, OT - Deliberate Creative, OCPMovie's Classic Editions, Pan & Scan O-OT Project, LD OT by EditDroid, Lucasfilm Pwnage Editions, Negative1 CED Preservations, Starkiller CED Preservation, Rowman bonus discs, BLAK0004, BLAK0009, BLAK0010, BLAK0016, BLAK0017, BLAK0029, BLAK0040, BLAK0046, BLAK0047-0050. Also a good preservation of the 97 SEs.

Check out "What Lies Beneath", which Ford made when he was 57...almost as grey as it is now.  I don't think the difference is particularly noticeable.   ...certainly not noticeable enough for the gigantic effort it would take to re-color it properly.

...IMO.

I somehow like Harrison's grey hair. When he's fired and tell about lost friends and all, his old look fits very well the depressed mood of the character.

And once he's in his "Indiana costume", he already just looks so much younger IMO. So while it's a fun and cool idea, I think there's no real need to add dark hair.

I don't think the public knows Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. as "Indiana," so, I don't think using "Indy" in the headline would work.

Not yet. What if we say something about Indy receiving an award or commendation from the US Government instead of an apology or a headline that his name was cleared. An award would imply as much.

Is it just me or am I forgetting what exactly it is that Indy does in this movie that merits the receipt of an award?

Yeah, you're right.  Those were all quite tongue-in-cheek, except for the 'HERO HAILED! and 'HERO TO WED! ones, lol.

I guess that 'HERO TO WED!' is my favoured submission for consideration, for these reasons -

1.  It's previously established in the movie that Indy had indeed been a 'military' hero (as opposed to a movie 'action' hero known to us) in the intervening years, and 'someone' could have 'leaked' this fact, if it wasn't widely known in the area.  As HeKS points out, apart from getting up to some usual brave, madcap antics, there doesn't seem to be something that Indy did in this movie that could actually be said to merit the receipt of an award of some kind.  However, I see the word 'HERO' being used here in the context of what he has done for his country in the past, according to this movie's dialogue.  Dr. Jones has earned the moniker, irrelevant of his other 'INDY' antics, and it confirms that all is well with regards to how he is seen in an 'official' capacity, by the end of the movie.

2.  If that actual footage of Jim Broadbent in the office ends up being used at all, then it immediately precedes the actual 'wedding' footage (no matter how that 'wedding' footage is edited by anyone), so seeing that headline for a couple of seconds or so beforehand at the end of that shot, will in no way detract from what comes next, but rather becomes the first 'reveal' of the conclusion to the movie, just immediately before the footage that suddenly follows.

3.  It's short and snappy.  (the 'exclamation mark' is optional, although I like how it's inclusion sort of implies 'he's doing what?!' to us all...)  ;)

Agree with the above. It acts as a nice segue into the next scene, and is snappy enough to read in the brief shot.

BTW, I see Frank Marshall has just confirmed Indy 5 is at the development stage.

Hopefully there will be less fan-editing to do on this one. ;)

Agree with the above (perhaps "LOCAL HERO TO WED" would be more like an actual headline). It acts as a nice segue into the next scene, and is snappy enough to read in the brief shot.

Yeah, good points, but I just want the headline to warrant putting hte newspaper in there and I'm not SURE Hero to Wed says enough to FULLY close the plot line about Indy being accused of being a commie. The hero part is vague. The audience knows Indy is a hero and might take it to mean just that. It's not like the FBI wrote the headline afterall. But  if he was commended by the US Government OR SOMETHING then it would sufficiently provide the closure we are looking for.

I don't know how a 1950's US headline would read exactly, but maybe something like "US archaeologist cleared from communist suspicion" could do the trick.

HHHMMMM!!!!! according to George Lucas he is gonna pass sean connery's torch to harisson ford for this one. So Indy will call mutt junior whilst still being badass. I could see it working but I dont need another INDY movie. They ended at Last Crusade for me.
