Yeah, skyjedi must have seen the theatrical cut. I thought it was *meh* at best, but not a steaming turd like many say.

But the director's cut is perhaps one of my favorite films of all time. I got it through Netflix, and they only sent me disc 1 by mistake. While waiting for disc 2 (with the second half of the film) in the mail, I watched disc 1 out of boreodm since I remembered I didn't think it was all that special the first time anyway.

I went out and bought the 4-disc Director's Cut DVD set immediately after disc 1 was over, and canceled it on my Netflix queue. I watched it all - rewatched the first half, even, just to get the full experience - later that night. I was completely blown away.
