my favorites were bounty hunters and tales from the new republic. even if they're far fetched, they're still fun reads
I need to read those 'Tales' books again. I really enjoyed them the first time around, as far-fetched as a bit of it was.

Turns out I don't have the New Republic or Empire ones. I didn't remember they were that old, either. 1995 for a couple of them!
So much truth to that Pope-a-tine idea.
I really enjoyed reading Tales from Jabbas Palace, my personal fabourite is Tales of the Bounty Hunters, some lovely insights into the Bounty HUnters in that book.
One of the things I always hated about the Star Wars Books/comics is that they made the Bounty Hunters seem like a mix of SWAT-trained, Special-Forces hardened, know-it-all, tech-geniuses rebellious superheroes and that bothered me.....being Boba Fett the main representation of that approach. Boba was an orphan clone who had to learn the ropes on his own, if he was clever to piece the trajectory of the MF better than the imperial officers who had the might of the Empire behind them, that was just (I think) a once in a lifetime break, since in ROTJ he fails miserably to stop a half trained Jedi like Luke. It really is hard to imagine how the Imperials with all their computers couldn't just plot a trajectory or have a sensor to detect the MF there, but still.....Boba was by no means infallible.

Some good points there.
The bounty hunters have several backgrounds. either are fallen soldiers or hunters of a wild civilization.
Boba has no background when you see him in ESB so that is a cool character that helps to the plot and lucas gave him something something something darkside whatever background in AOTC.
Their ways of finding things are like a metaphor that some traditional ways can beat computers and tech.
Rotj have some parody matters some time and like Impfighter said once, ady's saga will be the oficial instead of the dvds.

In the shot of the Falcon turning around to "take on" the Star Destroyer, when it boosts, the engine "fire" or whatever it is, looks very animated, like a cartoon (in my opinion anyway).
Ady, will there be any change to make it look more "realistic"?

Take it from ESB ROTJ wishlist thread.
Seems no one bothered to look there

I looked, and,
Looks very Star Trek'ish!!!
So i never bothered to comment.
(I call it plastic S-FX, as it plays a perpose, yet, does not convince the muppet looking at it).
Thats the diffence with 'us' fans that dont meet on the middle ground!!
EDIT: not that im having a go at the Trekkies.

While thats the idea I'm thinking of, the visual seems to be overkill. It should only be a blueish color, correct?

Yes and no.
I mean you are correct but id like to have more that one color in one shot.
Or keep the blue and add some lasers from the SD :)

The latter idea seems logical to me.
Isn't the Star Destroyer shooting at them prior to this shot AND after this shot anyway? I don't think added lasers would stick out at all.

Damn Ripplin :P
he said that he wanted a more star trek look to MF's boost XD
Beam me up Solo :)

I kinda liked the "firing up" effect, it made me feel like Han "stepped on it" to turn around like in cars when you floor it after a U-Turn to come out of the turn with a boost! I liked it.....it would be a shame to change that..maybe just feather it a bit? maybe?

I'm not implying that it should be removed, just made to look less animated. It shouldn't look like a cartoon flame!

Miff.
Aint having a go at your ideas V!
Just this one reminded me of Star Trek (not that theres anything wrong with that).
The images you post are the second biggest Hi-Light in this thread.
Keep up the good work
QUESTION: is anyone else getting plagued with MySpace pop-ups in explorer every time they go to (whatever) page?
Scanned my system, and flattened it, and nothing came up.
Those who got disks of ANH:R off me should do a virus check as soon as they get the disks, as a precortion.
I have somethin worse than VD possibly.
oh!....an improvement of the same effect? mmmm Angel did a great job with the part closest to the hull, maybe keep that and leave out the trails....? (yeah Trekkish all the way)

Does it happen on any particular page?...or is it random?
Either way, it doesn't sound good.

Random.
Im not only encouraged by Firefox, but im tempted to get on Linux OS lately.
Sorry. Way off topic, but it spoils my regular enjoyment here, and thats all im bothered about.

In the actual shot, the effect doesn't bother me at all until a trail begins to show... the boost itself looks fine, but toward the end of the shot, when a trail begins to show, it looks like animation.
These first 3 images of the shot look fine to me:
These next 4 images? Not so much:
Yeah, it's definitely the trail that bothers me. It looks drawn onto the frame (which I'm sure it was.)
So again I ask, will there be any fixes planned for this, Ady?
“Lifes a song you don’t get to rehearse, and every single verse can make it that much worse”
I'm Ubuntu on my main computer and OS X on my laptop and I've only had one wobbly (possible computer clap) moment and that was on the Mac.
I'd recommend Ubuntu to anyone getting a new computer as there is load and loads of really good free software out there and it runs like a dream.
You can also save a lot of money if you purchase a computer without windows.
Personally, I use Google Chrome.
With some types of sneaky malware, it can take a long time to figure out what the f*** is going on.
If you need more help/advice, you should start a new thread (in 'Off Topic' of course). Might come in useful to other unfortunate souls.

Hey Adi, just checked all the changes in page one and this caught my eyes :
9. Fixing it so the hanger doors only close once.
There's one other thing you could fix here (if you haven't already in which case I apologise for this useless reply :D ) :
Right after those doors have been closed Chewie howls and leans his head on the ladder, as shown below.
In the next scene 3PO tells R2 that Luke will be alright and yadda yadda, and THEN you can see Chewie leaning his head again, just as he did one minute before.
So... Is this a continuity mistake or is it just me?
