Enigmas said:There actually is a cut, oh_riginal. The imperial says,"My lord, we have them." Then there is a 'corkscrew wipe' (if I remember correctly) to the Falcon, and C3P0 says "Oh thank goodness we're coming out of the astroid field." But we, the audience, aren't sure how much time disclosed between those two scenes. Perhaps it was long enough for Boba to take a turbolift to the hanger and follow the Falcon unseen. I don't think its a problem, personally. =)
Okay I can see what you're saying, though it doesn't come off that clearly in the film.
Theres a lot in ESB that it seems one has to fill in the blanks more than usual... for example, I always assumed that the time between when the Falcon finally evades the Imperial Fleet (but not Boba), that it took quite a while for Han and Co. to reach Bespin with no lightspeed capability, hence the line "Bespin is pretty far but I think we can make it."
This allows more time in the narrative for Luke to have gotten more training from Yoda than it would seem he had. If it took, say, a month (just an example) for the Falcon to go from the asteroid field to Bespin, then thats a month Luke got to train, making his transition from failing to lift the x-wing and the failure at the cave, to being able to fend off Vader for a bit in a duel much more believable.
Or am I stretching things out too much?
