I might try editing that council meeting as a soundfile first to see if it sounds right and then open it up to see if people (including myself) can put Dooku in and solve the lip-sync problem once a sound file exists (and if the sound file can be improved) as a proof of concept.

I like the idea of Dooku on the council in TPM. Maybe having him in a meeting, but as a hologram because he's off-planet, could be a workaround for the sync issue. Fuzz it up and there y'go.

I love that idea :)

Feed your brain:

In AOTC, Yoga and Weedu tell obi mc donald to take Franko fett into custody, right? and bring him to the Jedi temple. How was he supposed to do that? Obi mc donald had one seat ship :)

Nute Gunray : "Captain Fett was your host. You repaid his hospitality by trying to steal his ship and murder him! You also called his child a silly name"

Obi-Wan : "Like yo momma!"

I have an idea, what if all of Count Dooku's appearances are replaced with Darth Maul, making him a main character. Remove the rest of the battle in TPM where Obi-Wan kills Maul, and instead have him run away while Obi-Wan is stuck behind the red shields.

It would take quite a bit of editing, and a lot of tweaking of dialogue, but it'd be interesting to see it done.

Anakin doesn't destroy the command ship he just destroys a ship single handed and deliberatly (not by accident).

Once Nute Gunray is captured he orders the ships away (to save his skin) and the Droids power down on his command not because one ship is destroyed (which seemed a stupid way to run a war in the first place).

What about the deleted scene from AotC where Ki adi mundi boards the blue screened droid ship & deactivates the droids? would this not work for the final battle, Obi & Qui gon go after Maul while the other jedi take out the droids, anakin bows up the ship in his blue fighter (I love that mock up BTW bingo) & padme arrests Gunray.

Surley there is a high res version of the deleted scene out there somewhere?

Not only would that be pretty much impossible to do, due to lack of footage, and the fact that Maul has two lines of dialgue in total, I don't see why you would do it. Maul was cool, and all that, but he had no character other than a bred killing machine. I would have liekd to see more of him, but only in the role he had in TPM, not as a actual main character. A recurring role would have been good for him (him in place of General Grevious for instance).

With tweaks, we've already seen Dooku can be a very interesting character (making him an ambigious renegade Jedi). If anything, we need more Dooku in the PT.

He should have been in TPM, like the people above have suggested. Have him on the council,, with one line maybe, just so we know in AOTC "hey it's that guy", rather than "another new character without warning, yay"

What about replacing Maul with Dooku? It's far more achievable, and could add to his continuity.

Say what?

You do remember the swordfights and the fact that Maul dies, right?

It would require some editing, but if Qui-Gon is killed, and then Dooku makes his escape whilst Obi-Wan is stuck behind the red shields, then it would sort of be a bit of a recollection when we see Dooku appear in Episode II.

I just thought I might post this as an idea for the TPM Dooku. What if he has two sabres and Obi-Wan gets rid of one during the fight?

I would prefer giving the viewer the idea that dooku is one of the good guys in TPM and we dont know he is bad until ATOC. Come on we think all of the jedi are good guys, We see one go bad we think they all are bad. After all George lucas had it set up for a good under plot but never launched an idea like that. With george hidden plots are coincidences that EU fans make something out of.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I see your point, and my idea to put Dooku in as the bad guy is probably not the best, but I still like the idea for the dual sabres.

also i might add Darth Maul is too bad ass to be replaced

Ok. You guys know I love color correction so I figured hell I would post some more color correction pics. This time Attack Of The Orange I mean clones. Yes this film is notorious for its mask of orange throughout. Thank god it is easier than phantom menaces pink problem. So here it is

those are really great improvements! especially the star destroyer ones!

(is there anyway to reupload them without the black blobs tho?:P)

could we start a colour correction thread perhaps? we could repost images with just a note of what was done? mockups would go well too. i love seeing these standard sized little frames.

Thanks. I am sure they would look even better if i had used an hd source. And about the black bars I will fix it in a jiffy

A few of them look a bit too washed out from where I'm sitting (specifically the Tatooine and Naboo ones).

Removing the tints or creating interesting effects by changing the colour mix is one thing but those are almost monochrome.

There is a relationship between brightness/contrast and colour saturation, I don't know how you did these but on Photoshop I find it better to play with the colout filter and then nudge the other elements down or up until they look right.

Green tends to balance out pinks, Magenta tends to balance out blues but it's only a general rule.

The PT does seem to be too colourful for it's own good some of the time.

I didn't add any black blobs. They were from the sources. All I did was mess with the levels and stuff.

Isn't the right side supposed to be just colour corrected versions of the left? The images on the right have a lot more blobs than the left. They certainly aren't on the DVD, if that was your source.

The Phantom Menace had a good bit of bluish video at the beginning and just about all the way to the Tattooine sequences.
