Just as I finally figured out what it all meant, you're changing it?!

Yes. there is actually the bottom of the building and the wings are visible from this angle. (*wings* you can spot them in the establishing shot!)

Just to get the idea. there are still some problems i spot.

-Angel

no you wouldn't see the bottom of the vane. you may see a bit of the wing (but it would be so slight it wouldn't be worth adding) but none of the structure at all. Look at the angle of the camera. You can see this by looking at the railings.

Hmm, vaderios

And yes, lets not hope Ady decides to make a prop for that, massive undertaking. LoL

Adywan,

I have been wondering for a while. In Return of the Jedi they originally had Luke's saber blue. I haven't seen any posts about this but are you planning on keeping it green or go to blue. This is a little early but I am wondering. I really don't care as long as the sabers are sleek, the size matches, and they not going through each other in front of the Emperor's face LOL

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

This actually should go here, but I think Ady has said that the green saber will remain.  Link actually goes to a blue saber mockup.

Ok it is way better green. If the fatness of it is gone I think it will look a thousand times better. But quick question How is he going to get rid of the saber that is already there. Remove colours and add layers. Because one cant simply plop a new blade over that fat thing.

It's somewhat related to ESB, so I'll keep going...

I assume he actually would have to and has already for ESB erase the current blade filling it in with a new background, then redoing the blade from scratch.

That's a relief,

I thought it would be near impossible to do unless he had the footage of Mark and Dave slapping sticks together. OR removing the color of the blades.

I was going to grab a frame of RotJ to mock up, but I immediately ran into this frame and started crying:

Not to say it's impossible, just beyond my capacity.  For example, Ady managed to fix this:

This set always baffeled me I made a post about this awhile ago and some of you guys blew it off calling it pure nonsense. Now look, you are bringing this up after blowing me off. So this wing that comes out into the middle of the shaft, is the carbon freezing chamber inside of it?

Have you seen the SW COMPLETE LOCATIONS book? Yes the part you point to is supposed to be the chamber. There is a complete diagram cutaway in that book. I know it's EU, but our imaginations are also EU or less.

After looking at the revised list of what will be changed, this one:

8. Fixing vaders "wobbly" helmet when on the gantry

isn't all that necessary because it makes sense that it moves a little:

When Vader fell off the platform, his helmet is clearly bent and crooked when he returns to throw objects at Luke. It wouldn't really be a fix to stop it from moving in the high winds during that scene.

"In a Star Wars movie, we expect force, Jedi, ships, fighting, cool people doing cool things....not midiclorians, Jar Jar, Grevious and Vader screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" like a bitch. "

It would probably be easier to change the "wings" in the establishing shot than create that angle of them when Luke is dangling overhead.

He already fixed it though, I can have it either way, it didn't bother me.

That would not make any sense to me were that to be the carbon chamber. With the movement of the duel and the size of the chamber and where Luke falls out the window I would have thought that structure would have needed to have been much larger.

If it's in a book though.....

Perspective be damned,lol.

From what I've seen of the Carbonite Freezing chamber in behind the scenes pics, It doesn't look as big as it did in the movie.

I would guess that room was not much more than 40 feet across. Yes it it still might be fudging a bit to get it in the vane, but not by as much as you think. Same goes for the falcon, you couldn't get those sets inside it, but it's not that far off, but it takes some fudging.

Perhaps Adywan could enhance it to look more in perspective? I never thought the interior sets of the falcon looked out of proportion, but now that you mention it, using the cockpit window as a reference, I see what you mean.

I'm actually very glad that Ady fixed this. It looks a bit distracting and silly, and Vader's helmet should be locked down tight, judging by the hissing air compression sound heard in ROTS and (I think) in the ESB meditation chamber scene.

Are you gonna add the part in Echo Base where 3po rips off the Wampa sign off of the door,

It was in the novel and i think it was originally in the movie. but havin him rip off the warning sign that says "wampas inside" would be pretty cool.

^Not really possible due to lack of high enough quality footage available, I would think. Same with the sandstorm in ROTJ and other scenes.

One from ESB I wish could go in is when Han tells Leia "you should wear girls' clothes all the time." :)

Was that line shot or did it only show up in a script draft or novelization?

Reminds me of the Mad magazine parody of Empire...

Han: Sometimes I think you've forgotten how to be a woman.

Leia: What makes you say that?

Han: For starters, you have your bra on backwards.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Where is ImpFighter when i need him :P

First pic. That shit that is next to vader has no purpose. We dont see it again. Or not. Correct me

Second pic the carbon chambers or where the duel begun it should be visible in some shots from behind.

And:

-Angel

Pic 1 - what you are seeing is the railing for the stairs on the gantry where falls over. This shot was obviously taken from earlier on in the sequence. I have removed the railing in this shot.

Pic 2 - the angle this shot is taken would make the structure off left side of the screen so wouldn't be visible

Pic 3 -  I see what you mean here. i will look into fixing that

vaderios, nice call on that top pic with the 'railing' that shouldn't be there.  It's one of those little things I'd never noticed before, and good to see that Adywan has removed it.

(Just for the record, having looked at the preceding shots, I agree that the main body of the 'vane' would not be in view in your middle pic of vader, as I'd have to say that it is shot from a low angle from near the perspective of the 'sliced posts' off to his right-hand side, and the 'vane' would indeed be well offscreen to the left of the frame as Adywan has suggested.)

However, you made another good spot on the bottom pic too, vaderios, where that detail on the far right (going down the 'surrounding' structure) of the shot shouldn't be seen from our point-of-view here.  Nice to see it looks like that will be removed too, now.

vaderios, judging by the angle we see of the top of the 'railing' here, I also agree that we wouldn't be able to see the bottom part of the 'vane' structure that you mocked-up, as it's 'vanishing point' would be somewhere underneath the 'walkway' from this angle.  However, it was neat to see that flashing 'walkway' light 'yellowed' up in your version, compared to the current shot!

Adywan, that reminds me.  I know that the lightsaber that flew out the 'round window' with Luke IS actually shown, but I still think it's a bit lost among the nearby 'debris' in the shot without your helpful arrow, which pointed it out to me in the first place, lol....

I'd still like to see it perhaps positioned nearer to Luke's right hand (where our eyes are drawn during this shot), if at all possible.  No worries if not, but for years I thought that it had surely fallen down the long chasm below, and that it was yet another oversight by the makers when Luke appeared with it to face Vader again!  Turned out I was wrong, but I wonder how many others thought this too, due to it not being placed in a little more obvious position?
