i misunderstood bingos comment.
yea i believe they used his actual face in ROTJ, but had a mask in ROTS. i might have gotten that backwards.
he really sounded like gollum when he shouted at mace, "No, no, you will die!"

He definitely had extensive makeup in ROTJ. Personally I'm of the opinion that they didn't need to show a moment when he changed from human to deformed, and that a gradual decay worked better; if you look at his makeup in AOTC you can see he's starting to change already and I think that was originally the way they were going to go, but in ROTS he's back to normalface until he zaps himself.
Zapps him self? o.0

Do you mean when Mace Windu blocks the force lightening with his Saber and deflects it back to Palpatine?
Yes.
Poor R.R. ;)

yea, but then you would have the people who would complain, "How did he turn white?"
Not very many. It's actually a good thing if you don't assume that all of your viewers are suffering from severe dimentia that requires every intricate detail to be laboriously explained. The few people who don't get it aren't worth pleasing by sacrificing the quality of the movie with endless and unnecessary exposition. (Especially when the final product had so many serious plot-holes that really should've been explained. God only knows why there are so many inconsistencies between the trilogies, but at least now we know how the emperor turned white!!)

We still don't know how precisely, whether he was like that all along and hiding it with the force, or if his dark force energy turned back on him caused it, or if the heat of the lightning melted his face... but it certainly was bright and colorful, and that's what matters in the end.

Seeing as Luke got a full blast unreflected for several minutes longer than Palpatine did reflected it seems that having his mask pulled down is the only explanation that makes sense.
THe Fact that he says "I Can't hold it any longer." as his face deforms was ment as a double meaning
he is telling Mace "I can't keep attacking you any longer"
& he is telling the audience "I can't keep this false image any longer"
Thats my take on it anyway

Not to detract from this riviting discusion, but I just posted a video on YouTube that you may get a chuckle out of...and it has a couple of little ideas that could be used in ESB:R.

Seeing as you squeezed in a Star Trek V mention in there you could have the Probe droid smash into the TARDIS from Planet Of The Ood as well or maybe Voyager from that episode where the Voyager is found buried in ice (the title of which alludes me at this time).
You could even throw in the guys from The Thing measuring the impact crater.
The nebula behind the crawl has a real Babylon 5 look too.
Checkout farmergeddon71's Youtube channel for inspiration, he is the master of Sci-Fi mash-ups but he hasn't posted anything new there for sometime (I hope he has got a job in the industry now).

That was a good one, Davnes! What was the Titan AE reference, though? ...and the Star Trek V one... All I remember about Titan is that Drew Barrymore should not be a voice actor and I haven't watched the actual Star Trek V (other than fan edits) for a long time. :p
That link you provided was neat too, Bingo. I watched "Flight of the Darned", but I don't really know what was meant to be there and what wasn't.
My guess is that the starfield was from Titan.
Am I right? Am I? Am I? Huh? Huh?
Speaking of Titan AE, I think Hoth should be renamed Planet Bob.

You really have to know your Doctor Who to get the majority of the jokes.
It was put out just before the Titanic (with Kylie) episode and Peter Davison turning up in a vignette for charity (the majority of the footage coming from arguably his least successful story Time Flight.
There are too many references to list here and yet it sits rather well.
His two part comedy epic version of The Five Doctors (though ten are actually featured one being played by two actors) is also hilarious but more so if you are familiar with the source material (with hardly a frame going by without something funny going on either in the background or the foreground).
I did love the Airplane! reference in it. :) Though I don't really know Doctor Who, I did find it fun overall.

Thanx everyone. :)
Yes, the starfield/nebula was from the very begining of Titan AE (before the opening credits), and the ST:V reference was the "Planet of Galatic Peace" line.

one thing i liked about this movie is the communications between pilots. "Three of em, coming in, twenty degrees'' "Cut to the left i'll take the leader!" Idk why, but i thought it was cool.

The twit that says, "Copy---Gold--- Leader" in the Death Star run was tragically awful however.
Yeah, that stilted delivery was a bit odd. :p
I just figured he was trying to concentrate on freakin' his flying ship!
Er, I mean... you know what I mean.
Srsly guise, sometimes we can read too much into this sort of thing.
Yes, but it's a movie. There's no room for realism! ;)
