I definitely don't agree with the speeder being crushed by the walker. Slightly more crushed, maybe, but that's it. The foot hits the speeder at a relatively low speed and the walker is not leaning on it. It just sort of puts its foot down like we might step on an ant, which we do not put all our weight into doing either. The canopy is crushed and I think that's about all that would happen in that case. The speeder is pretty flat as it is and is presumably fairly strong.
Just think for a minute about the way an extremely stiff, four-legged machine would have to shift to truly gets all its weight into it. The vast majority of the weight is still on the other three legs.
