Imperial Security Bureau proudly announces that our agents have intercepted a Rebel transmission containing vital information about DVD covers for the incoming SE Trilogy release. We have converted the holoprojections to 2D pictures with JPEG compression for yor viewing pleasure.

The Neurosyndicate company produces DVD packaging (it was responsible for the Aliens collection). Here you can see three alternatives:

Final Conflict

The Imperial Collection

Jedi vs Sith

I doubt we are going to get that many releases. I was hoping for cover art to match with the prequals. I hope there isn't the final art. Plus the side should say A New Hope for Episode 4.

They look cool enough I suppose. I just wish they were the original version not the bleeped up edition

I agree it may not be like any of these but I kinda like "The Imperial Collection" or "Jedi vs Sith" Boxes.

IMO

I guess the SE posters were matching PT covers pretty closely... they were used as VHS covers, but it seems that they want to make something "new".

Digibits said that these are the working covers. There aren't going to be several releases with different packaging. These are all just concepts the company is working on right now. I dig the Jedi vs. Sith cover just because I think it's cool. But I agree with Jimbo that these covers should match the PT unless he's planning a whole new release of the PT once Ep3 comes out with new cover art. With George, one never knows.

Well, any of them would look nice shelved next to your Alien Quadrilogy, if you own it. Shame it doesn't quite match the movies it should be matching.

Ugh. Looks like digipaks. One more reason not to buy the set.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I was under the impression that these were going to be like the IJ trilogy in all respects, even the packaging. Apparently, Lucas wasn't as impressed with the set as he claimed to be.

Sorry, I'm not logged in so I couldn't edit this note onto my last post, but does it appear that the Yoda on the Jedi vs. Sith packaging is wearing the same snarl that he had in AOTC? Is it an image from the PT as opposed to the OT like it should be?

I think Luke should be on the front cover next to Vader instead of Yoda anyways. It's the OT - this about Luke vs. Vader (well it's also a bit about Yoda vs. Palpatine, but that's more of a background theme, imho).

Edit: The "Final Conflict" one is my personal favorite, though. Because it solely shows Vader and somehow suggests that the 'final conflict' in this trilogy might also refer to the conflict within his tormented soul. Plus the simplicity of the design makes it stand out for me.

I actually like two out of the three covers, Final Conflict and Imperial collection. Jedi vs. Sith looks to PT for me.

Exactly - it's about Skywalker family - to be precise: about Anakin's redemption. So even though I dig the "Imperial Collection", Vader's mask on the box is more apropriate, albeit not in the form presented now.

It's funny. As much as I dug on the Jedi vs. Sith cover (primarily from a graphic design perspective) in my first post in this thread, I now find myself liking it the least because of my Yoda discovery and what everyone else has said. I agree with MSD 100% (and DC and RRS) that the OT was about Luke vs Vader and should show him. I would love to see some sort of cover that shows his "progression", per se. Maybe his Jedi Luke image as the main image with a smaller inset of him from Tatooine when he was looking up at the two suns setting with his floppy hat on.

i would be happy with just Vader...
after all the saga is about his fall and redemption...
i think its just fitting to have a cover which portrays that...

look at the "original one last time" cover...
i liked it!

I like the "Final Conflict" and "Jedi vs. Sith" covers. "The Imperial Collection" is okay, but it's too drab.
